Can you point your Craigs List ads to an optin page?

Was curious as if Craigs List is against this type of advertising. I wouldn't think they would be if your giving something away for free.

Anybody know either way.

Thanks guys,

In my experiences craigslist is a waste of time because you constantly have to be changing accounts and trying to fool them just to make a few bucks. It is more effort than it is worth. You can make more and maintain more of an income with other methods that do not involve craigslist.

Technically, I don't think you can link to a site at all.

The way I have seen it done is to get people to contact you from the ad. Then send them an email with a link to a landing page.

This is the way that most do it, but there are still a few categories that will allow a link. However, these are few and far between and to use them you have to pretty much spam them. Again, it is way more work than it it worth.

I'm ALMOST POSITIVE you can make your GRAPHIC AD CLICKABLE (not html ad or hand typed ad) to drive traffic to a web page where it has an optin page.

Yes, you can physically do it.

        IIRC it's against the TOS.

yes... sometime I sent a response to an ad.. all I got is an auto response with a link in it... if you place a link pointing to an opt-in page, the ad will not last long.. you can give it a try and report back to us.. some of the flaggers on that site is very aggressive...

This is very true and again another reason why I would never recommend using classifieds for any of the digital products or affiliate products that you are marketing. They are working very hard to either eliminate this all together or at least cut it down to only a few categories.

The terms of use are here: craigslist terms of use and what's disallowed is about halfway down the page under 7. CONDUCT

Unless you're posting in services it's against the TOS to post links to commercial websites. My opinion is that the inmates have taken over the asylum and it's not worth the effort for legitimate businesses or individuals.

So...on average...how many people's accounts get deleted if and when you post to commercial links OUTSIDE OF SERVICES?

If you do....do they suspend or delete your account (I'm just curious as I'm a new Craigs List poster
