My Blog Links To Another Site Instead?

6 replies
Hi, I have a sudden problem... I have been updating one of my blogs in Wordpress and when I clicked on 'view blog' to view it, it suddenly displayed a sales page for Master Resell Rights products instead!

When I try to type my blog address in the browser bar, this same site comes up!?! Have I been hacked or something- and if so, what can I do about it??

The address is and should link to a health blog!

Many thanks for any advice- it's been a very frustrating day!

    The link brought me to unselfish marketer's page. Is that page yours? Maybe there something messed up in your domain forwarding settings. You may need to contact your web host and ask them what is happening, might be this is another client's site and your domain somehow pointed to their IP or something.

    I hope you're not hacked, that's not good.

        This is the source;

        <meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0;URL=">
        <body bgcolor="#ffffff" text="#000000" link="#0000ff" vlink="#800080" alink="#ff0000" oncontextmenu="return false">
        As someone said above, it's redirecting to the Unselfish Marketer's site, but through an affiliate link.

        If you have never heard of the Unselfish Marketer then someone has hacked your site and put in their affiliate link.

        You could probably contact the Unselfish Marketer and tell him the affiliate ID to find out who it is.

    I Agree with Pat. If you don't know anything about this site simply contact the Product Owner.

    However, I don't think there's clearly anyway someone could Hack/Hijack your site without logging either into your Domain Panel or Your Cpanel.

    You Should:

    -Confirm that the nameservers for your domain name correspond with what your webhost gave you.

    -Check the index file in your public_html directory. If you're using wordpress the file should be index.php (and not index.html or otherwise)

    Anyways, Hope you are able to resolve this ASAP.

  • Hi luckystepho / Stephanie

    JayKay, the Unselfish Marketer here :-)

    I answered your ticket about 3 hours ago assuming you were my member and hosted by me which is not the case (but without you telling me the domain name nor using an email addy my system knew I couldn't be sure about your status...)

    IF someone hacked your domain and uploaded the above redirect index.shtml file using aff_id=3490 s/he must been extremely stupid since "3490" is a dummy test affiliate which yields NO commission to anyone

    Anyways, I see your Exercise, Health and Fitness online
    so someone must have fixed something for you :-)

    I wish YOU and Your Family A Happy & Extremely Prosperous New Year

    Warmest regards,
