The reason I ask is on 12 16 09, I somehow got interested in this gig.
Everyday since ive woke up and bedded down doing not much else but dreaming, reading and getting really pissed @ my lack of tech skills.
Ya see I have always been a guy that gets into something and gets very addicted to it. Not sure thats bad, but I have only taken 2 showers and aint brushed my teeth but once. My garbage is falling off its pile in the corner ,into the sink (s). Augh, its not that bad really,Ill shower tonite ,maybe.
Really though I need a lil help,( more help).
I am so green I worry one of you Worriers have a progam that monitors this this site for P.I. the *** noobs and I think Im getting cut off from the wso folks for bugging them with my lack of ( you fill in blanks( -------------------------------)
If any of you started outright, cold turkey, no puter skills, and a crap load of go, Id like to hear your story, as in the first few wks. and mo.
And thanks for all the lil favors some of ya have been so generous with.

I'm not sure if I understand your post completely, or if it may be a joke, but what sort of "tech skills" do you think you lack, that are preventing you from getting started in this business?

If you have the skills to type and make a new thread in this forum, then you have the skills to use Wordpress and put up a simple website.

so you don't know where the default download folder is?

        hum... ok, try this:

do you think you can install chrome?

if you can, you will see a lil square on the bottom when you download, and a lil arrow right on the right of it. Right click there and you will see a "show in folder", click there...

this way you get to the folder where it is. Just move it where you want.

There are other options, but they take some more steps.

Firefox lets you choose the destination folder each time. That comes handy too.

and, for the old stuff... look for the search box and do a search by name.

This is for windows, not sure about mac or linux.

I'm not so sure that it's persistence you need. Maybe it's focus. Look at your post. It's hard to tell if you're trying to be clever or if maybe you're a little nuts.

Try this. Identify what you want to do. Maybe that's learn something important to getting some marketing going. Then seek the tools (ebooks, video instruction, etc.) to learn that task. Stay with it until you master it and then move to the next piece in the puzzle.

Every time you identify something you need to know, write it down and then write out the steps you need to take to get it done. Before long you'll be developing skills. It's simple.

As for your unusual way of communicating, it might be clever or even funny at times. But that's the point. There's a time for eclectic banter and there's a time to play it straight. Good luck.

Maybe you don't give a rats butt about something you aren't interested in, but if you are going to be successful you will have to change your attitude about that. I did, you can too. What I found is that things that I thought were way beyond me were pretty darn interesting after I got them figured out.

Anyway, since you wanted stories, I started my quest to make money on the internet in December of 2006. For a solid year, I tried everything. In the end, I ended up with the "information overload" so many people talk about, and just didn't know whether I was trying to start at the beginning, in the middle, or somewhere else. Finally, I gave up completely and tried the "bum marketing" approach as coined by Travis Sago. First month, I made $600 and was ECSTATIC!! At that point, I started trying different tactics, going just a little further, etc.

Now, I can say that I make WAY more than I ever did at my 'day job.' In fact, my husband doesn't even have to work any more. It took me a good 2 years, but I finally made it. I am SO THANKFUL that I was persistent, and did not give up. I knew I could do it.

You can too - just realize that you are going to have to learn a few things, whether you want to or not! You just may find that the more you know, the more you want to know.

    Good luck!

If you don't know where your downloaded files are going then create a shortcut on your desktop to your downloads file. All you have to do to do that is right click on the desktop and browse for the downloads folder.

If you ever have something that you have trouble with, nip it in the bud before it becomes a major problem. Not being able to find your download folder is pretty poor really (sorry for being rude). I'm just surprised you haven't come up with a solution yet.

Don't be put off with your lack of skills. Humans aren't born with an automatic ability to use a computer so just be persistant. In terms of your personal hygene, I don't think that's my place to comment but don't you think you'll feel better about yourself if you are fresh?

    Just my thoughts dude.

menu item, you sound really distracted and scattered, just reading your posts! Now may not be the right time to bank on IM for a stable income if you're facing such dire circumstances. I surely hope you're not abandoning your day job (if you have one) to focus completely on internet marketing! IF you do have a day job, stick at it until you can generate consistent income with IM.
