A couple of months ago my adsense site went from a PR to a PR1. Entirely my fault; I hadnn't updated it or promoted it in 7 months.

And I've been so busy that I still haven't done anything to promote it, BUT...I just checked and for the second month in a row, my adsense was $10 HIGHER than it was for the previous several months when it was a PR 3.

So my page rank is lower but I'm earning more!

I finally believe all those people who told me that Page Rank doesn't mean that much. Although I would like my pagerank back, mind you.

This is really a testament to the power of article marketing - the only thing that I did to promote this site was write dozens of articles linking to it, and then I filled up the site with dozens of short posts of original content, which helps me in organic search.

Page rank is about SEO and not about PPC advertisements , no?

      Yes PageRank is about SEO.

Not entirely sure what you're asking...you don't get pagerank by paying for PPC advertising, if that's what you mean.

Dana I meant that there is no connection between your Adsense profits to your Page Rank.(I think)

Pagerank is basically just a function of the backlinks your page has. (page rank is for single pages, not whole sites)

Your rank in google for any specific keyword is based largely on your page rank and relevancy to that term.

This doesn't have anything at all to do with how much your adsense clicks are worth.

That doesn't mean page rank isn't immensely important, which it certainly is if you rely on organic search.

Yeah I agree Dana... although the SEO value of a high PR should increase your traffic and therefore your adsense earnings, this isn't always the case....

But with the power of articles you really don't have to worry about PageRank in this example..IMHO

Yeah, pagerank doesn't as much as some ppl believe. What matters are backlinks, content, etc. Pagerank jumps up and down. I have a site whose PR was 2 but during the last update it became PR1. That hasn't made any difference in the sales though. I wish I too could earn higher revenue with a lower PR site like you

Well, I would like my pagerank AND my earnings, but...I'm relieved to see that losing my pagerank didn't hurt me. I do feel that having a lot of content on the site helps me in organic search. And yes, if I were a PR 7 or something, I bet I'd be earning a lot more! So I'm sure at some point it has some effect on earnings...maybe I was just too lowly in PR already for the PR cut to have any effect.

I thought it was about backlinks too, but a little investigation would tell otherwise.

With all the Blogspot blogs at PR3 or 4, little content and no traffic...

Few and low quality inbound links...

      Who knows?
