A Simple Little Trick to Massively Increase Your Productivity

Warriors,

I just wanted to share a little tip that I have discovered that seriously improved your productivity. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I wanted to add my 2 cents.

Working at home has it's distractions - TV, exercise equipment, dart boards, Nintendo Wii, computer games, etc.

Often times, these things distract me from doing work. The distraction comes from being lazy.
"I don't feel like doing work right now...so I'll just play a quick game of Super Mario Wii as a break so I can give my head a chance to clear."
So here's what I found that works really well(split tested over a month haha).

Wake up and get straight to work, even if it is just for 30 minutes.

I found that if you start the day off with some work activity, you are just way more inclined to follow through with work for the rest of the day.

I'm not talking about answering emails or looking at the forums, I'm talking website building, writing a blog post, creating a video, ANYTHING that will set your mind right for the day.

I have also 'tested' this by waking up and playing a video game instead. You know what my day consisted of?
90% video game, 10% work.

By all means, you don't have to skip out on playing your video games if you don't want to. Just start the day off with a bang and it's likely to end with a bang(if you're lucky lol)

Enjoy!

I completely concur with you on this too, Daniel! I've done some informal split testing of my own (lol!), and the results have been the same. If I started my day browsing facebook or looking at WSOs, guess what 90% of my day consisted of? I suppose starting off with productive activities puts us in the right frame of mind to do this all day long, it has to be the law of inertia at work here - once we get started with doing something, we tend to stay there unless something stronger distracts or pulls us away, and when it's something pleasurable like nintendo or yapping on the phone, it gets really hard to pull away from it!

So true. It's funny because once I get into my work mode, I actually have a lot of fun. It's just hard to get there.

It definitely is rewarding when you look back at the end of the day at all of the stuff you completed and how much fun you had doing it. Granted, there are always boring things you will hate doing in your business...

      MarkAndrews,

I agree with you 100% It's very easy to get burnt out, especially if you are really excited about something like a new business venture.

I know I would get so intense with a product I was working on that after it was completed and launched, I wouldn't be able to do any real work for at least a week.

With copywriting like you do, I bet it's even worse because it involves some form of creativity. but i guess if you enjoy doing that...

I agree on starting the day right results in better productivity. I'd recommend to take 2 hour power work hours then take a 10 min - 30 min break / nap / exercise.
