So I was watching the latest episode of the Cleaveland Show on fox.com
In this episode Cleaveland and his crew talks about different inventions.
He finally decides with ShirtsFlix.com a copycat of Netflix designed for shirts.
For laughs and giggles I actually want to shirtflix.com (at first I typed in shirtflicks.com then I realized since it was a gagged on Netflix it should be "flix" not "flicks")
Anyway, it seems like the domain ShirtFlix.com is owned by a web hosting company, but if you look at the bottom of the page you see a picture of cleaveland saying "A Social Experiment".
The web design company is going to give out statistics on how much traffic an "indirect endorsement" from real media (an outlet that is said to be dying) can achieve.
What's your thoughts on this experiment? I thought it was interesting the site existed and I merely checked it out because of curiosity.
Obviously posts like these are going to increase traffic, so I guess a couple of marketing elements also come into play.
Curiosity, word of mouth etc.
Interesting non-the-less. You can find marketing in the most subtle of ways.
