Has anyone marketed a .ME domain???

It seems weird, but I've started to see these pop up.

I bought me own name, my family, etc... figured maybe for future use.

I'm thinking about using my own name AP.me/blog etc...

Has anyone tried this yet?

Thanks

P.S. Namecheap has them on sale for $8.88 (I paid over $20)

Hey you never know until you find out, I don't know how well they rank in the search engines. I remember some time ago, I read an article on .me domains. Here is the article:

Google Hates .me Domains | Ted Murphy

I don't know if you want to rank in the search engines with the domain, but if you are its something to consider.

Personally through testing and reading a lot of other marketers opinion- I think google puts more weight into
    domain age
    on page optimization
    off page optimization-links,links,links
content-how often good content is added
and so on and so forth(just trying to shorten this reply)
than they care about which .com,.info,.net,.me
There is pretty extensive proof that your .edu domains rank higher
with google, but that is because of the institution that owns the
website more than the actual .edu part of the domain name!
Anyway-that's just my 2 cents worth and I'm sure it's not worth 2 cents.
    Lol

I did a website for a client using a .me domain. Traffic is not bad but then a lot of marketing was done on radio and newspaper adds and no online marketing. The have closed the business and given me the domain I now have a domain with +- 300-400 uniques a day. I want to start marketing it now as it was used in the weight loss market so I will see how it perform using SEO (No SEO was done on it as that was not part of the deal ) The domain was registered in June last year
