Keywords: Focus on one or many?

Here is what I have been doing with my keywords, which I think could be the problem....I have a bunch of keywords to use, so for one keyword, lets say "beginner futures trading" for example, I will post an article to my blog, then submit it to e-zine 3-4 days later.
Then I go to the next keyword I have, repeat the same process...I only have one blog post and one article published for each keyword.
My question is, should I just focus on one keyword? Instead of changing my keywords for every blog post, make every blog post and article submission on one keyword?
