Articles for your Wordpress Blog

Whilst creating my Wordpress Blogs, it crossed my mind, which is the best way to produce articles for your blog.

I have done both, wrote my own or outsourced them out.

If you are creating blogs daily/weekly as one of your sources of income, which people do on this forum, what is perceived as the best way of creating articles for your blog.

1) create your own unique articles
or

2) outsource
or
3) take other peoples from ezine and the like.

    I have used both options one and three on different blogs and, in my opinion, option one is by far the best; option two is possible, and option three is worthless.

    A Tale of Two Blogs

    When I used free ezine-type articles on my first blog, I emailed Darren Rowse (aka, Problogger) asking (I think?) for blog improvement tips. His biggest tip (if I remember correctly) was to write my own content.

    At the time, I was not very skilled at writing, so I continued with the ezine articles. That blog eventually got about 50 visits on a good day.

    On my next blog, I wrote my own content (option 1). After only six months or so, I was getting an average of 300-400 visits per day!

    Granted, there were more differences (Blogger vs. Wordpress, more networking, etc.), but I think the type of articles did play a major role.

      I say go with one and three - but for three go get Steve Fullmans WP Unique in the WSO's. It can make those articles appear like original content on your blog without changing a thing and they have the potential to rank higher than they do from the original source.

        Thanks for that great information, that looks an awesome bit of kit, I will definately be purchasing that before the weeks out.

    Depends on the type of blog

    If your running a lot, chances are all of them arent going to have quality posts unless you have a great writer, or ongoing guest posts

    Focusing on one or two really great blogs, building them up with content I write and the rest I will outsource to people who really can write not just anyone

    I agree that writing your own content at least initially is best. That way you will get a "feel" for your audience. You can also use the articles on Ezine articles and top and tail them. Perhaps ad a comment or opinion just make sure you leave the links intact.
