The Fight for Net Neutraility (Deadline Coming, VERY URGENT)

This is serious stuff for all of us, because it IS a real threat.

"You have until Thursday at midnight to tell the Federal Communications Commission how you feel about the Internet. The comments you file with them will help shape the future of the Internet for generations to come. Our responsibility to protect it is a mighty one."

No Ordinary Week for Net Neutrality | Save the Internet

"The FCC is facing intense pressure from giant phone and cable companies that want to strip away our right to an open Internet. They have already flooded the FCC with comments calling for an end to Net Neutrality so that they can control the Internet and block our access to Web sites and information."

Check out the link and flood them with respectful messages, they need to know that people ARE paying attention and DEMAND the internet remain open.

Do you realize what would happen to internet marketers if the internet turned into a cable subscription type package?

I know it'll be hard for them to pull off and people will likely find ways around, but still lets stand up now. Whats your thoughts about this?

Yeah, well we had a censorship approved here in Australia recently, which was proved by auditors to not work at all, all sorts of sites which did not have banned materials where censored.

It may sound like a crazy conspiracy but my belief is that its just a way of banning sites and info that our governments dont want published, just watch how many of those 9/11 sites get pulled when the censorship starts.

But if only the government knew, with the technology out there today we can build our internet or bypass their filters, just talk to a networking geek.

yeah I know what you mean with the censorship of certain materials, there is lots of stuff going around they desperately don't want out there.

But It makes me very happy to know that we CAN bypass their filters if they try. Can you imagine how lucrative it would be for companies to provide an open internet If they were to close the doors?

Plus internet marketing would still exist, it would just be very, very different and probably much harder. Either way I still don't want it to come to that...

I think the whole cyberspace is way bigger than a couple of cable companies that want to charge for access.
