Not using Paypal = Getting Less Sales ?

Hi Warriors.

I have a sales page set up and i am not planning to use paypal as the payment processor.Actually,my country is not supported to receive and withdraw payments. So,I am thinking of Alertpay as an alternative.

Maximum people use paypal. And i think,i wont get sales with alertpay compared to what i would have got using paypal. What do you think? Will the sales be less with alertpay ?

Or do you think if i target people who are too desperate to buy my thing will buy regardless of payment processor ?

Have you done any test or something in the past.

BTW,
How can CB Vendors withdraw money ?

Thanks in Advance.

Im not sure that Alertpay is well know, usually people will shy away from unknown payment processors.

The answer is Yes you will get Less sales by not using Paypal.

Alert pay is well known by over 300,000 HYIP users. But obvious well shy of how many 10's of millions know paypal.

Alert pay will only allow up to $250 per month via a credit card, which is stupid if you ask me. So if you have $297 per month subscription services, or something, you'll be up the creak without a paddle unless they fund their alert pay account.

The only other alternative if you want to instill confidence to people without going through Paypal, is authorize.net or some other credit card clearing merchant to accept payments via credit card.

OR, Moneybookers, they are just as well known as Paypal and been around as just as long. OR Neteller

Many new people dont know nor understand this.

We rarely get a request for an alternate payment method and that's on a high volume of transactions every month.
But how many people see it and just decide to use/purchase a competitors product?

I think if you can't find a way to use PayPal, you're probably going to lose a lot of sales.
Tell Kern, Reese, etc. that. Many large retailers don't accept PayPal and a lot of the ones who do, "recently" started.

Of course I do prefer to use PayPal over a CC.

        To the OP...

Try 2Checkout or ClickBank as they accept PayPal.

Or use Amazon payments if you can. It could help with peoples perceptions...

And what does that tell you? More and more retailers are including PayPal as a payment option because it's effective for increasing conversions.
Not only that, but there's a huge difference in many people's mind when it comes to submitting their credit card to a large, well known company and submitting it to a small company they may not have heard of before. Big companies will usually be afforded more trust.

It's all a moot point though, if Paypal isn't available where the OP lives. He has to use whatever means he has.

If I am buying something that is common, I will look for a site to buy from that uses PayPal or Google Checkout.

The main reason being that if I could get the product from anywhere, why would I want to take the extra time with checking out from a site that doesn't use one of those 2 shopping carts?

I understand your situation, and it's not your fault. But having said that, I too believe you will get less sales.

Unless of course, you have a 1 of a kind product, that people will really want. Then it might not make as big of a difference.

The payment gateway usually doesn't matter to people planning on purchasing. People are more inclined to use their credit card and debit cards, which most merchant services/payment processors are more than happy to accept.

Thank you all for Really good suggestions.

Personally,i hardly enter my CC details to purchase anything.I prefer paypal and i guess my customers also prefer the same. So,i am sure the sales are gonna drop without paypal.

I am not so sure about MoneyBookers because i haven't noticed many sites with moneybookers payment option.I also didn't know they were so old website.

I guess CB and 2CO are the right ones to go with. The fees is bit on the higher side with 2CO.But i will make more money by using 2CO(paypal enabled) than by losing sales by going with Alertpay.

    Thank you all.

By all means PayPal is more popular. And using it you'll increase your sales. I had the same problem to solve. And I found that it's much easier to use PayPal and then just pay commission for transferring money to another payment processor which I feel comfortable to withdraw my money.

Use google checkout or plimus. Plimus allows paypal, and every other option even if paypal is not accepted in your country, check it out.

Well if IM people start to move to other solution then i'm sure that there will be no sales issue there. But fees deduction and account limit issues are more painful than low sales, so it is better to support alternate payment processors than paypal.

Plimus is bit more expensive.2CO is a better option,i guess.

Using a processor that accepts paypal is lot more important than the small in fees.

Paypal is cool, and you might want it
    as a secondary option.

But I hear once you get over a certain
    amount of consistent volume you're
    actually losing money using Paypal.

Because of the big take outs Paypal
    takes from your money.

I believe there is something called
    1shoppingcart, or something like that,
    that works way good.

Paypal Should Definitely be used during Checkout. Its best to use any other processor that accepts paypal.I am planning to use 2CO so that paypal customers can also buy.

You Dont need a PayPAL account to receive payments via payapl. Register with 2Checkout... they accept almost all countries. And recently they started accepting paypal. Your buyers will pay them with paypal, and they will pay you. 2checkout is a very popular payment processor.

My advice is to use Alertpay and Plimus, have two options on sales page.
Plimus is better then 2CO because it has good affiliate program, so others can promote your product.
Plimus has higher commissions then 2CO, but it's free to open account, so you can try.
