Do you offer rebate or cashback? Have you been cheated before?

I've ran cashback promotions in the past. One recent one was quite successful and earned me over a thousand dollars with not a whole ton of effort (in comparison to other methods of earning that kind of money).

I have been contemplating offering up a low cost WSO on this strategy, but was unsure whether or not the demand for such a product was there.

I take it this is something that you would find interesting?

As to your question... There are a number of ways to ensure that the customer AND the affiliate are protected. There is an inherent risk for both parties, since they must both be "trustworthy" and honest individuals. Assuming that this is true for both parties, there should be no problems. There are those who try to scam the system however (on both ends).

While running my promotion, I learned my lesson the hard way and ended up losing a 50 dollar commission because an unscrupulous customer found a way to claim his rebate from me, while still claiming a refund from the product creators. So I paid his "rebate" out of pocket since the corresponding affiliate commission to recoup my cost never arrived. I had taken steps to ensure this would not happen, but never the less, it did. I learned from the loss and moved on.

As for the customer, assuming (once again), that you are a honest and professional marketer, you must give them every reason to believe and have faith in your offer. If they sense "BS" when you mention sending them a rebate, they will not take your offer. So being honest, upfront, and being easy to communicate with are CRUCIAL components.

My promotion had many great successes, as well as several failures and aspects which I could have improved upon. When it is all said and done however, I feel that this is a GREAT way to promote products which allow it, because unlike other "Bonus" rewards that affiliates offer for buying via their links... A cash rebate has an immediately positive impact on that customer financially. That is always going to be an easier sell than "Here is my free bonus eBook report on blah blah blah". (Not that I think that is a BAD thing, quite the opposite).

I am very glad you have posted this question here today. I think I may take the opportunity to get my thoughts and experiences down on paper and possibly create a report or WSO based on this method.

I think with my situation, I felt that offering some cash back on the product I was promoting was setting me apart from the HUNDREDS of others who were also promoting.

It was (and still is) an incredibly successful product, owned by many here at WF no doubt. There were literally hundreds of other marketers and blogs/sites promoting this product with great success. It was so highly saturated that a newbie blogger like myself stood no chance to compete.

I had to find my USP, and I did... Worked very well and I am proud of the results!

**In very specific situations**

Previously On a prior Launch I had an interview with the product owner and what we did was we set up a Discount coupon code only available to my subscribers to my list. so the day of the launch i sent them the email of getting the product and type in their bonus code here, therefore it has nothing to do with me as an affiliate but for the product owner himself. I still incentivise it to my list and they love it.

Saving 10% on a $500 product is still saving them $50. Why settle for an ebook when you can get cash in your pocket right?

The affiliate management program I use allows me to set up a special promtional offer for 1 or more affiliates for a particular product. I can make the offer time sensitive and also limit the number of sales.

It just takes a bit of time and effort providing additional marketing tools for your affiliates. In the long run, every one benefits.

I prefer cashback to rebate. It's really effective way to increase sales.
As customer I would just try to find out how honest is a businessman. In case I didn't get my cash back, I would let all potential clients know about this lie. I'm sure decreasing sales would make the businessman to understand his mistake.
