What does a can of Coke cost where you live ?

Hi

i am trying to see the relative value of the money we earn online. A dollar has a certain exchange rate for a given country, but then you still have the local value of that local currency, and living costs for that country.

in south africa, a can (340ml) of coke costs 6 ZAR, or about 75c (US)
a loaf of bread costs about 7 ZAR, or about 87c ( US )

the reason for picking these two, is the fact that coke is available everywhere, and bread in most places ( i hope )

so, show us how much a dollar earned can buy - even u guys from the US, please.

    Coke - 330ml - around 60pence, sometimes as little as 40pence, sometimes as much as £1

    Bread - depends on the brand.

    In the US - in my area at least:

    Can of Coke - .50 to .60 cents
    Loaf of Bread - $2.89 to $4.89 depending on the brand

    The prices are a lot higher here though than they are in a lot of the US.

    from my monetary perspective, a can of coke costs twice as much in the UK as it does here in SA, and a loaf of bread can cost up to 3 times what we pay for it.........

    Not sure how much coke is because I think it's sickly stuff and don't drink it - about 90 pence a can, as far as I know. I went into the supermarket for a loaf of bread the other day (I know, overkill, but it's five minutes walk away, unlike the little corner shop, which is twenty minutes walk away!). My daughter asked me to pick up a pocket calculator for her while I was in there, and I was amused to find that, at 65p, the calculator was cheaper than the loaf of bread (97p).

    Here in Cleveland, OH, USA:

    Can of Coke: .75 USD from a vending machine / 4.00+ for a 12 pack from the store which comes out to about .33 a can.

    Loaf of bread: .50-1.00+ USD for factory bread / 2.00+ for fresh baked bread from the big supermarket here (Giant Eagle), it's cheaper at Wal-Mart and K-Mart supermarkets which are scarce around here.

    a can of coke runs around 65c in SC. Now a bottle of coke runs about 1.30ish which is funny when you can go to mcdonalds and get a large for the same price :/

    Interesting question but I would not drink the poison. Bananas, on the other hand, were $2.49 a kl at local shop today. They are ranging from $1.49 to $3.99 at time.

      Well in Malaysia the price is in Malaysian Ringgit(MYR).

      Can Of Coke= 1.5 MYR = US$0.44 Approx.

      Loaf of Bread(small)=2.10 MYR= US$ 0.60Approx

      Loaf of Bread(Big) =3.50 MYR = US$ 1 Approx

      US$=3.45 MYR.

    Where I'm at in DFW, Texas, I pay:

    $0.50-0.75 for a CAN of Coke, but most places sell bottles, which are $1

    For bread - $0.85 to $2.50 depending on if you get store brand or Mrs. Bairds

    It tastes TOTALLY different.

    I just checked, and an 8 oz can of Coke is .60 in the vending machine.

      I have never liked coke, I'm a Pepper,but you're right about the corn syrup. I don't know about coke, but I can get Dr Pepper made with real sugar from here Dublin Dr Pepper and your right, soda does taste different when made with sugar versus the syrup.
      IMO it also tastes better out of bottles versus cans.
      But for the record...a 12 oz can of soday is about 75 cents, bread around $2 a loaf here in the capital of the south.

      Did you ever go to Ice Station Cool, presented by Coca-Cola in EPCOT , Walt Disney World? It closed in 2005, but they used to have Coke from around the world. Some of it was nasty, others quite good.

      Whoa! I didn't know that. I always thought that it tasted better when I lived in Japan, but I didn't know there was a reason for it.

      I live in Waikiki (Hawaii).
      Can of Coke here is about 90cents, including tax and bottle deposit (later you can take it in for recycling and get 5 cents back).

      A loaf of bread is about $2.50 for the cheap white stuff. $4.50 for the nice dense healthy stuff. Although you can get the good stuff 2 for $5 at Sam's Club.

    Can of Coke, from a vending machine: 1.00 to 1.50 EUR = 1.40 to 2.10 USD.

    Can or bottle in a bar/café: 2 to 3 EUR (in Paris: 2.50 to 5 EUR or more) = 2.80 to 5.60 USD (3.50 to 7 USD in Paris).

    Pack of 12 cans bought in a supermarket: 0.40 to 0.70 EUR per can = 0.55 to 1.00 USD per can.

    Bottle of 1.5 liter in a supermarket: 1.50 to 2.50 EUR = 2.10 to 3.50 USD.

    Loaf of bread: 0.90 to 1.20 EUR (french "baguette") = 1.25 to 1.70 USD.

    (1 EUR = 1.40 USD)

    Coke is not much of a commodity because it is so cheap to produce and price is driven more by local supply/scarcity and demand.

    Within a 20 mile radius of here you can pay anywhere from $.50 to $2 for a can depending on where you are and how close the supermarket is.

    In the Los Angeles California area. A can of coke can be as little as .50 cents and the highest I've seen is $3 (in vending machines in certain rare spots) Average is around $1 if you just buy it anywhere.

    A loaf of bread is just under $3 unless you buy your bread where I do (the 99cents store) then it is 99 cents.

    A 12 oz. can of Coke is $.50 - $.75 in a vending machine.
    A 12 pack of Coke at the grocery store is $2.50 (sale) to $4.00

    The REAL cost is in the Captain Morgan!

    Bread is $1.29 store brand to $4.00 for the good stuff.

    But bread will continue to climb since we're saving the planet with corn based ethanol! SCAM!!

    Here it is so cheap that I don't even know if I would be able to convert it to a dollar. I am still trying:

    As of now, a 300 ml bottle of Coke costs just Rs. 12 (including taxes), that is 10/46=$.03

    Loaf is available for almost half that price!

    It really pays to live in India

    either way,stuffs really only good for loosening rusty bolts.

    A can is about 75 cents although bottles are really all that I ever see anymore. They cost $1.25 most places and are 2.00 at Disney World where I work

    In France, a can of coke in August was close to 4 bucks. Don't forget that wine is the national drink there.

    The bread though was cheap, or so my wife says, and great quality. Just right for all that Brie and Camembert . . .

    Ok, I actually just bought BOTH bread and Coke today here in the Tampa, Florida area at my local Sam's Club.

    In a 32-pack of 12 oz cans of Coke from Sams Club today, the price was 29 cents US per can. Loaf of Nature's Own Whitewheat bread (my regular brand) was $1.60 per loaf.
