Article Marketers - Need Your Help

Hi Guys,

I am trying to diversify my traffic and I'm thinking of trying to put some efforts into article marketing.

Now, I have no idea how it works (although I know how bum marketing works though -- which is to choose keywords with low competitions for the articles).

So right after I submit all my articles to EzineArticles, what do I do next?

I heard about building backlinks and some complicated USFreeAds stuff that I am not really sure. So hopefully warriors can help.

Cheers
Desmond

PS: Kinda embarrassing asking about this since I've been doing SEO & PPC for such a long time.

After submitting your articles to ezinearticles you should attempt to get page views so your article will end up on the top 30 in that category and then will get syndicated to other websites easier.

This way your 1 article will have 100X more effect. I would work on that first.

I had been doing various forms of IM for almost a year and had tried article marketing without success. Through a chance run-in with Yommys01 here on WF in Nov, he helped me re-start my article marketing efforts. Only after his assistance was I able to actually generate any money from articles. He's an incredibly hard worker, constantly available, a tough task-master and knows his stuff. If he's offering his assistance for free, it might be worth a chat. I owe him a huge thanks (and, Yommys, if you're reading this - I still owe you an email update, too! )

Submit to Ezinearticles first, then submit that same article to the other top directories:

    articlesbase.com
    goarticles.com
    articlecity.com
    isnare.com

there are a few more but these are the top page ranked under ezinearticles

make sure to bookmark ALL of your articles, not just the ones on ezinearticles.

You can submit it for free to Free Traffic System and it will post to 30 blogs over the course of roughly 10 days. It allows 2 backlinks - you can have 1 to your main site and 1 to your article (or however you want them). If you do it that way you'll have about 30 backlinks built for free to your article.

You might use something like Submit Your Article or Unique Article Wizard. Both do automatic submitting to hundreds of article directories and have article spin software included. Both cost a monthly fee, but if your serious about promoting your website you need something like this. I've used them both. UAW has a article writing service now.

Well, It is better to go ahead with some other popular article directories too. (Such as GoArticles, ArticlePool, Amazines, ArticleCube and etc), Always make sure that you do rewrite the articles before you submit. (To get backlinks from different content :p )

So if I'm submitting 4-8 articles every day, I need to be social bookmarking every one of those articles, is that what you guys are saying?

I honestly have enough trouble with the backlink "wheel" for my two sites - there is no way I have the time in my day to write for my sites, write for my list, write 4-8 articles, and create a "wheel" for EACH article.

    How important is that really?

I can SB my articles, but I can't really take the time to create a network of blogs and stuff around each one. Though I could probably include links to them (maybe even the articles themselves w/ bio as if I were using that as content?) on the blogs and stuff I've set up to "wheel" around my sites. Is that what you guys mean?

And do the SB sites get annoyed if you're bookmarking a ton... I mean we're talking 8-10 SB's to each one every day for me at this point.

I think this is pretty related to the OP's question, so hopefully you don't feel I'm hijacking your thread!

Re-purpose the content, make a article video, build a squidoo lens, combine articles to make a free report, sell the articles as PLR.

Here is my article marketing strategy. First of all I hate writing, not too good at it, so I outsource all my article writing. I buy in bulk, 100+ articles at a time, so what I do is, I buy articles targeted to want I need, then once I receive all the articles, I submit them too Associated Content, but I keep the rights, this is a method I like to call Article Arbitrage. I usually make more money then I spend on the outsourcing.

After I have recouped my cost, I then (sense I still own the articles), I syndicate them to hundreds of article directories, with manually submitting to EZA, GoArticles & Articlebase.

After that, I then re-purpose them. I turn them into Squidoo Lens & free reports mainly. I like Squidoo lens, because they still rank well in Google, you can add an opt-in box on the lens, so it builds a list faster, by spreading the web form around the net.

After I do all that, I add them to a PLR mini-mart I'm building, and I sell the articles as PLR articles. This way, I get a recurring income from all the articles I have purchased. Then I rinse and repeat.

That is the overall strategy. Most likely leaving stuff out, but just going off the top of my head.

Write article directly about the niche you are diversifying with. Choose keywords or key word phrases within the niche. Limit each article to one key word, or key word phrase.

Submit your article to the article directories in the appropriate catagories. For example, do not put an article about dogs in a catagory about apples. Ezinearticles.com does encourage you to use different author names. Use the first initial of your name, and the last name, instead of your full name.

Also, tag your listed articles with article sites. Now you should generate some good traffic from that.

It is never ok to submit duplicate content. Whether or not the article directory detects that it is duplicate, is beyond a concern, it is the search engines you should worry about. Most search engines love content, particularly Google. I suggest you distribute to more article directories tham just eza. You can also do what someone else said he does on here, buy them in bulk and use them for multiple purposes. That is a very common practice, even among my own clients.

      My 2 cents.

We write articles. (But would sorely love to outsource this), submit to Ezine articles (original only) then outsource building link wheels with those articles.

We are in the process of setting up our Traffic Geyser account to see how well that works with article submissions...

And if you don't mind a small plug :-)

One of the cool things I like about the Instant Sales System is that if you are relatively new at this game - there is very simple step by step instructions all in one place on how to use all the tools we talk about including articles, press releases, videos, social bookmarking, banners and offline methods.

I think it means creating a bunch of links on other (preferably web 2.0) sites which eventually link back to your articles on ezinearticles or other article directories.

      yourArticle -> Squidoo -> Associated Content -> Social bookmarking -> blogger.com -> authority forum -> yourAuthorityBlog -> yourArticle

The orders may not be exactly how you want it to be, and for linking from social bookmarking sites and forums, you may need to set links in your profiles or signatures. Basically this is how a link wheel work, they are similar to vicious circle (or cycle) intending to boost the rank of any one or all of the content in the eyes of the search bot. However more advanced methods have since popped up, they wheel does not necessary need to be built in a linear sequence illustrated above and I have even heard of link pyramid, though I am not really sure what it is yet at this moment. Hope you get the idea

I don't have all the time in the world to market my own articles. It sounds very brash to say, but my high hopes consist of me making it so that my articles advertise themselves. A well made article will get your readers advertising it for you. Digg is the best example of this. The author may only count for 1 Digg. It takes 100+ to make front page. Your readers are necessary.

Here are my 3 most important steps:

    Creative Titles
"How to make money" vs. "You'll need a bigger wallet after you read this!"
Which one captures your attention most?*
Hook the reader on one sentence
I only read sometimes one or two sentences and glance quickly over the rest to decide if I want to read it. Things that I read and inspire me, I pass on to friends.
    Your own experience, please.
I don't like reading technical sounding things devoid of personality. Include yourself, because there's only one you out there!

    *cheesy example, I know

Article marketing is a rolling machine that never stops. You need to write 2-8 articles every day. Then bookmark, and RSS your articles. Then post a shorter article using same keywords linking as anchor text to your original article. To do this you can use 3StepAds or FreeAdz which are popular post blogs. This will get you a much higher ranking for your article and a longer one as well.

Threads asking how to do Article Marketing come up quite often here - so I have a standard reply - I hope this helps:

Two brilliant threads to read about article marketing are these:

Exactly what do you mean " link back to EZA."

I've posted my articles first on my site, submitted to EZA and approved. So they're live now. I'm about to submit to other directories. If I link back to the EZA articles wouldn't the viewer just be seeing the same article that they see on the site they are coming from? Or are you saying to link back to a different article?

I have used articlesbase, because they allow me to add my link into body of the article. This way it's easier to get that click to your website. And it seems that they are very fast in reviewing the articles.

So I have had positive experience from them. And they tend to appear fast on google, at least after pinging them with pingler.com and ping-o-matic. Maybe some social bookmarking too.

I think Goarticles allows those in-body links too.

I think you just link back to other articles, or an opt-in page, or your blog? Not sure.

So if I am selling an e-Book, and I am trying to promote it with Article Marketing.. I create a blog, post my unique articles on there, then submit that article to hundreds of Article Directories. Do I link back to the blog where all the articles will be, or another Ezine article, or an opt-in page where I will be giving away free reports for their Name and E-Mail Address, or the actual page for the e-Book?

    Thanks!

    Hi Desmond,
Sounds to me like you have traffic generation problems. This is probably the problem that everyone has so try this.
    1) Use Twitter or similar and build a following
    2) Ceate or buy or find a GOOD QUALITY give away product and ener it into give away events to build your list.
There is a hell of a lot more you can do too, I'm finding out about a lot of it now with help. I'm posting my adventures to my blog in the hope that I can get other newbie marketers and bloggers to team up and cooperate with.
