How Do I Use Facebook Properly

Hi guys,

I am contemplating deleting my Facebook profile and starting over. I have a mix of IM and personal family and friends in my profile and I find the posts that my family and friends are making are not really a good mix with my business. My Facebook address is in my name.

Can I just start over and use the one with my name for family and friends and make a new profile for business? What do you think I should do. My nieces and nephews posts sometimes are crazy and I don't want my potential business partners or customers seeing that stuff. Any Facebook experts out there can tell me how to effectively market my business with Facebook and then use it separately for family and friends?

Having two separate Facebook profiles may be a good decision on your part. Especially if you friends that leave comments that you do not want your business partners to see. Seems like its all about personal preference.

Good decision....I had to do the same simply because some of my Fam/Friend comments were off the wall [no pun intended] ...

I have two different facebooks also. Sometimes you need one to be yourself, and another to show your professional side =) Nothing wrong with that.

        Hi,

I think it is right as, facebook is a social networking site which allows you to enhance your business and to get some new prospects too, also it is a place where you can find your friends and can stay connected with them.

So, it is always better to have two profiles one is your business profile and another is your personel profile.

As far as business profile concerns then it is good if you join some business related groups which helps you to get more prospects.

        Thanks

Facebook may state one account, but I feel that your personal self is a separate entity from your business. Having a separate account for your business is something lots of people do. Look at restaurants and such for example.

As far as having two accounts from the same IP address, I wouldn't worry about that as many families experience that same issue as more than one person will have an account in a household.

I agree that you should keep things separate. When you post something on your wall, you want business contacts to read it. They will be less likely to do that when they see irrelevant (to them) messages about your personal life.

Best to go for 2 facebook profile or account.
    Keep business separate from pleasure.

Trust me, i have been there and i state that it is best way forward cos some friends in their humour might make comments your business interests would not appreciate

Have you considered starting a facebook FAN Page for your business? This is a much better proposition for professional presence on FB. And the number of FANs is unlimited.
