Can you recommend a forum platform?

Does anyone know what platform these Warrior Forums are built on? I am working to develop a forum in another niche and looking for a quality forum script. Any advise would be appreciated!

The best forum platform is vbulletin. I believe WF
runs on vbulletin, so does DP and many other forums.

I second vbulletin but if you don't want to pay right away and want to see how your forum progresses first then use SMF as you can easily transfer all data onto vbulletin later on. However SMF isn't actually that bad at all.

    vB hands down.

Best forum software, good support, great flexibility, tons of add-ons.

    Go with it. =)

It's always been my practice to start with a free script like phpBB or SMF if I am not sure the community will grow to a profitable size. Then I upgrade to vBulletin once the forum is large enough (ex. ad revenue pays for the vbulletin license).

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I used phpBB several years ago. It was fairly easy to setup and use. My forum was overrun with disgusting profane SPAM, but I know there are better tactics and phpBB enhancements to make forums more SPAM proof.
