IM Method That Works For Me!

Alright, so I have been testing a few things out lately, and here's how I have been making my latest income. This method I have been continuing for around 6-8 months now

How It Happend

So the first thing I said to myself was, I have no money, so I have to start making money from no marketing costs. So I went and signed up to SEnuke lol. So that backfired; however, I don't regret it!

I realised I could blog without buying a domain name, over at blogger.com. I don't know why I didn't realise this sooner, probably because I was being stupid !

What I Did

1. So the first thing I did was keyword research; I did this through using the free google keyword tool; I tried to find certain niches which showed decent traffic/searches and minimum competition.

2. Once I had found that keyword, I had signed up to blogger and named the site the keyword, or something with the keyword inside it. So that was my blog set-up, without buying a domain !

3. Then I wrote a unique article, consisting of 300-400 words, which was relevant to the niche and keyword.

4. The next step is to install google adsense.

5. I then used SEnuke to submit articles, ping and basic backlink building. The URL was just the blogger URL given to you after you finish creating the blog.

Results

So I don't think I was actually ranked in the first few pages in google for my keywords, but I started seeing I was for some reason getting traffic through the search engines, and then when I checked my adsense account I saw I made around $1/$2, not much, I know lol. However, as I continued backlink building I found my adsense revenue to around $5-$10 in the first month. I also continued writing new articles, but kept it at one article 3 times a week, because, frankly, I just got bored of writing them lol.

Anyway so I thought, why not do this exact same thing again and again with different blogs; it's months later and I now have 800+ blogs, which average out between $5000-$8000 in Adsense Income.

It might seem like a lot of work, but I now outsource it all, so it's kinda on automation and growing :-D. my outsourcing costs me around $500-$700 a month, and I have two people working for me; one that set's up the blogs and one that churns out articles!

But the bottom line is, for some reason, it works.

Thanks,

Neil!

Great strategy! Thanks for sharing! You mentioned that you distribute articles to promote your sites. Do you create a unique article to distribute, or do you use the same articles that you posted originally on your site??

    Thanks!

That's pretty cool. I basically started the same thing several months ago, didn't know a damn thing about keyword research or SEO but managed to earn a little bit from Adsense/Clickbank, with minimal traffic. Now that I know more I'm going back and applying what I've learned since then... it's gonna be cool

I have done that too, but by actually mispelling them by accident and not realising! but that is an awesome technique too! keyword tool usually shows some decent search volume for mispelled words!

Yeah over the past month or so I've gotten my head spinning with ideas for CPA marketing. It's hard to find really good biz-opp CPA offers (considering it's an IM blog, it wouldn't really do well to stick Get Paid By Google offers on it), but I think I've found a few worth looking at... I'll see how it goes.

You really must diversify. If google smacks you for any reason, all you work is lost and all your income is gone.

Spread the risk, try HubPages and Squidoo for some articles. Try your own domains too. Have multiple accounts on google and the others.

For the long term, you really must do this, you must not allow yourself to be so vulnerable.

        Congrats on the good result!

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

OMG man you can't be serious?

You have all your sites under one account???

If a couple people complain about your sites being spam for whatever reason then google could delete your account and you would lose everything.

Heck google could just delete your account for having too many blogs...

Spread them out. Use other web 2.0 properties. Buy real domains. Look at cpa offers and affiliate offers also.

You have a great system which seems to be working (this is the hardest part) now you need to diversity and protect yourself.

        Best of luck

That's totally cool. Scaling a 1-2$ site until you make thousands a month is truly awesome!

I'd simply suggest that you start branching out and build some self-hosted sites, for example.
Right now, it looks like you're screwed if blogger should change their policy on commercialized blogs.

I agree with those saying you need to diversify. It's great that you're making that kind of income with very little work on your end but it seems like you're putting all your eggs in one basket.

Since you're making a good amount of money every month, why not try other types of traffic such as PPC and PPV stuff. You have the money from your sites to get started and this would be a great way to expand and diversify your income streams.

thanks for the advice guys I know I definately have to start diversying in case this backfails. It's just one of those things that worked, so i am trying to milk it for all its worth until i cant anymore!

    other than that i am working on other income streams; well to be more accurate, trying to find something that works;

It took me ages to realise that you do not have to go after the one thing that makes you loads of money at once! even if something makes you $5, how many times would you replicate it, to make it your desired income?? sure it might be some work, but hey, you wont get anything without working for it.

So the moral of the story is:

    SCALING is Key!

Don't worry if your blog only makes a few bucks! keep doing it until you've made what you want! The internet is so huge, am sure if you even got like 0.00001% of what the earning potential is, you would love it!!

    Thanks

this is a great story!!! Thanks for sharing!! very inspiring.

About diversification and risks... yes, you are milking this cow to the point where you might think on keeping this as is and move on.

But don't worry. You are adding unique content and doing things apparently as google likes, so you are going to be ok.

And, you found your own way by yourself. That is priceless.

It doesn't really matter what happens, you've got it in you. If you need to, you will find another way.

          Great Job Neil!!!

My only suggestion would be to start building future sites in wordpress. Domains are cheap and you can setup wordpress to be an SEO expert with just few tweaks!

I do something similar in my business but we build out hundreds of articles a month per site with some custom software. There are services that will do this for you!

This lets me go after the long tail keywords for almost no cost and builds authority to my sites. After a little while Google starts ranking me for related keywords even though I have not actually gone after!

I call this the power of volume!!!

Great Job on making it work on your own.

    Hi Neil,

Thanks for sharing your success story man.

In your story I see several success principles that attributed to your success.

You stuck with one method and stayed focused on it until it paid off and just rinsed and repeated it over and over again.

I love hearing stories like this. When I first started climbing out of "the muck" I was living in my grand-father-in-law's moldy basement, going to school full-time, working full-time and having only a couple hours in the late evening to work on my sites.

Adsense did not exist then and in fact, Google was not the behemoth it is now either. But I did what you did...I wrote articles and continued to write them over and over again. I used free sites.

Nowadays there are so many ways for folks to do this even better...with all the web 2.0 sites like weebly, tumblr, squidoo etc. There is just no excuse to NOT do it. You just need to carve your path...force your way into it...make the Internet pay. :-)

If you get the content out there you will get the clicks and eventually sales. Stay relevant and it will come.

Nice job my friend. I love hearing stuff like this.

    Adam

    Hey Chris,

I am not sure what Neil does, but in the eyes of a search engine those two are seen as the same. It is really all about the backlinks. Just try and get the keyword in there.

I don;t personally use hyphens unless there is no other way.

    Even reallynicewidgets1.blogspot.com is pretty good.

But always, I go for the keyword, without hyphens first. Then if that is not available, I just play around with it.

Could you give some typical figures for what you call "decent traffic/searches and minimum competition", as different people seem to define this differently?

Any particular blog theme (or other strategy) you use to maximise CTR?

How long does it take each Blog to reach the average income figure you quoted?

Do you keep writing an article every few days for each blog, for ever, or if not, at what point do you stop writing articles for a particular blog?

    Thanks

    Chris

AdSense . . . if you do a Google search for a keyword such as "credit" you will see some adverts, called "sponsored links" on the right. Anyone can put those AdSense adverts on their own website (such as on a free Blog) and when anyone clicks on one of those adverts, the website owner gets paid. Obviously, there are lots more details, but that's the basic idea. So all you need is to have a web-page that people visit, and if they click on Ads, you get paid. You can do this for FREE by creating a Blog on Blogger.com as this thread details . . . put AdSense on it, and get some traffic, and you make money.

Clickbank is similar, but with downloadable products . . . you can advertise them on your webpage in various ways, and if someone buys anything, you get commission. Amazon.com has a similar affiliate concept as do thousands of other websites that sell things. That's how a lot of us here earn money . . . by getting a commission on selling other people's stuff. It's easy because you don't need to create your own product, or your own sales website, or your own advert . . . just a webpage which encourages visitors to click on links for such things.

So AdSense and Clickbank are affilliate concepts, which allow people to make commissions on sending visitors to certain places.

scares me that you have all that income based on one source as others have mentioned. i did that one time while do construction and was so proud that we have over 500k in accounts receivables...until they declared bankruptcy overnight. still trying to recover.

    big accounts receivables=big accounts payable.

anyway , just wanted to put another comment on spreading your risks.

also, I took a little sample poll here in town . had 88 people look at the domain url

    www.newhotspotsintown.com
    and
    www.new-hotspots-in-town.com

55 chose the hypenated domain name.

    easier to read.

Great Post. Neil you go by the same Motto as I believe in. And that is find a Winning, proven system and just work it and work it and work it. Its a long term strategy and the fruits of your labor will be seen only if you keep this notion in mind.

I think one of the biggest problems with Newbies and other people who are NOT successful is they want everything too quick and go from one strategy to another. They need to find a proven system (which there are hundreds on the Internet) and just stick to it and REFUSE TO BE DENIED !!

Just like you did, Neil !!

          Hey thanks man!

Yeah don't let anything stop you! you can always do what you want! Why not? theres nothing stopping you really, but you!

i mean if you know with one blog you can get $1 for example; Why not make a million?! sure enough it will be long, boring and hard, but in the long you'll get your million dollars! it's worth it then! lol. Plus, as you get better at things, outsourcing is an integral part of any business! otherwise you are limiting your productivity!

@bobmcalister - ouch sorry to hear that! I do understand that, everyone on here has pretty much advised me to diversify which is what i am doing at the moment; I don't think i can just rely on this, as it could be stripped at any given moment i guess.

Thanks for the advice guys, and don't worry I am not keeping this my main project as i am stupid enough to keep it all in one account lol ! Anyway will report back with any other IM models that seem to work.

      Hey Neil!

That's awesome that you found a repeatable method, and that's what it's all about.

I'm actually doing a similar thing right now with SENuke and blogger.

Are you building blogs for completely random keywords with high searches but low competition? We all know they are out there because they aren't related to products we can sell....but Adsense solves that problem.

You definitely proved that it can be a numbers game though. If each blog gets 5 visits a day, with 800 blogs..... That's 4000 views a day.

You're probably getting more than that too!

Any congrats, and keep doing it!

        I mean that is part of that plan really yeah; you just need to research these things and find what people are searching for; if you are making a site where your monetising through adsense, then, it doesn't have to do with anything you actually sell;

for example, you could start up a blog about a particular celebrity etc. and you know they will get searches, without that much competition! and with SEnuke, you are kinda half way there!!

Anyway, good luck with your mission!

This is a twist on a very familiar business model. I have known about it for years.. but never fully put it into action. Whenever I talked about it with IM/ web working friends they would mention the risk involved/putting your eggs in one basket thing.

    Two questions come to mind
    1. Are these blogs all under one blogspot account?
    2. For the other responders - Aren't you only allowed one adsense account? Isn't having more than one account even MORE of a risk?

To me it seems almost impossible to get a second adsense account with all the telephone and snail mail verification now.

I read in another thread that one can do so by having multiple LLC's (corporations), so one can have a different AdSense account per legal entity. One might be wise to split up the blogs similarly (and maybe host them yourself, etc.). A course I bought recommended splitting hosting the same way by having only a small group of sites per C-class host, and using different accounts for each, so that if one group has a problem, it doesn't effect your other stuff.

I look forward to getting to the point where I have these kinds of problems

Should be 2400 articles per week from what I'm reading as well.

All the answers to this question seems to be answered indirectly by the OP thereby not really clarifying it.

How many articles do you have on each blog?
Do you start with 3 articles per week per blog and continue for a specific period of time (like a month etc) or is it an ongoing process?

your question should be answered above; and yes it is an ongoing process until that particular blg gets around $5-$10, then 2 should suffice !

Sorry I do not know the actual figures itself, but as a rough estimate yes that is about right, perhaps less. i may being vague, because like i said, i dont know ! its 3 articles per week with a new blog, and sometimes three doesnt need to carry on once the blog itself is established; For the more older ones you can get away with 1/2 a week, also depending on your niche !

Please let me know if you have anymore questions

    that's amazing! Gratz on that!

That's how it goes though... it starts with $1 or $2 then grows to something a bit bigger. The real key to your success - if you don't mind me saying - was that you realized the outside the box tactic of just REPEATING WHAT WORKS!

So many people fall victim to giving up or losing hope when they only see $1 or $2 in their adsense. They don't piece together that if 1 blog makes you like $5 a month then 1,500 blogs would make you $7500 a month! It's like this with any strategy for making money - even affiliate marketing :p

    Thanks for sharing

I'm just not understanding how the math works out... care to enlighten me, OP?

You say 1-2 posts for some blogs, or 2-3 posts for others, so lets round it off to 2 posts per blog per week. With 800 blogs, thats 1600 blog posts per week, about 230 posts a day. You said you only had 2 workers, how is it humanely possible to write 115 articles a day for each of them? And that's assuming both write articles, but as you said its only one writing the articles, so 230 articles a day it is... and for 700-800$ a month?

I'm having trouble understanding how these numbers work out

It might seem like a lot of work, but I now outsource it all, so it's kinda on automation and growing :-D. my outsourcing costs me around $500-$700 a month, and I have two people working for me; one that set's up the blogs and one that churns out articles!

But the bottom line is, for some reason, it works.

At first it seemed like one of his 2 workers was writing the articles but then he mentioned that one uses SeNuke and the other builds the blogs while the articles are outsourced somewhere else.

Thing is outsourcing 1600 articles a week at even $1 each (which is ridiculously low) is $1600 a week and $6400 a month. Then if you add in the outsourcing costs of his 2 employees at $500 - $700 a month, then it rounds off to around $7000 a month. The amount from adsense is $5000 - $8000 a month. So in a good month the net profit is $1000 and in a bad month it can be a $2000 loss???

Now if he is outsourcing 6400 articles a month (213 articles a day and not PLR articles) for the outsourcing costs he shared above for $500 - $700 a month then he is paying anywhere from 8 to 11 cents per article. If this is so then you definitely have the Holy Grail of any article writing outsourcing resource.
