Hi All,

Did overdo the Thank You button? I've only thanked 11 of you but then my TY button disappeared?

Did I over use it and get it taken away? Can you see yours?:confused:

  • I suppose each of us has a limited number of thank yous per day to give. Check the button tomorrow.

  • Maybe we should have a "Nod and Smile" button for those times when you're reasonably appreciative of a post, but you don't have the emotional conviction to use up a Thank You.

    And maybe a "Shrug Shoulders and Squint" button for when you're acknowledging that someone has tried to help, but they were way off the mark. That way you won't need to use up a "Nod and Smile", and at the same time you don't feel rude for not acknowledging.

    • Hey that's a great idea! And the "Die, stupid spammer" button zaps the spammer through their mouse.

      And each time the button is clicked, the voltage is raised.

  • Is there a way to turn off the thankyous? I just don't wanna see everytime someone is thanked. Wouldn't it be better to just say thanks in your own post. :p

    • Kind of like the "rep" button was used... I am sure that the "Thank You" button could be abused as well... turning it into another popularity contest. So I agree with you... the "Thank You's" should be visible only to the person being thanked. Then I doubt it would get abused.
    • The whole point of the TYB was to eliminate useless posts that don't have anything else in them. It makes sense to limit the TYB usage, otherwise there are bound to be some click-happy fanatics running barefoot through the WF thanking everyone for the air we breathe.
