Warriors, What Do You Think About This (FTC Compliance Sugession)

Hello Warriors,
I am desperately trying to tailor a good disclaimer that complies wit the new FTC rules and doesn't put my prospects off at the same time.

Those who work outside the IM niche ill understand my frustration, it's really risky to push the plain disclaimer"this is an affiliate link and I'll get paid if you purchase through it" in the face of non IM customers, these people may not understand what an affiliate link is, and they will probably think that they can save some money by avoiding your link and go direct to the site and purchase from it directly.

I put this one and I want to get your feedback about it from the marketing perspective, not the legal one.

Here it's:

"Disclaimer: The links to "x product" on this page are affiliate links, if you make a purchase through these links I may get paid a commission, this commission has no effect on your purchase, you will pay the same exact money and will receive the same exact merchandise whether you purchase through my link or any other link"

What do you think?

I don't think it's a matter of the FTC cracking down on you. I think it's more a matter of losing your customer once he/she reads it.

I saw somebody saying somewhere to have some kind of flashy bonus or image beside the disclaimer to take the readers' eyes away from the it.

If I was a customer on your website that had no idea about affiliate marketing, I'm not sure if I'll be completely convinced by the disclaimer you've shown above.

    Hi Mate,

I think that if you get any legal advice
from someone who is not a lawyer you are
    asking for trouble.

You should be asking this question on a
forum full of lawyers...not a forum full
    of marketers.

On that note...I am sick of all the marketers
selling and giving advice about how to comply
    with the new rules.

    Talk to a lawyer.

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester

There ya go -- Michael's advice is the only advice you should be taking in this thread.

Since this is a legal question, ask a lawyer.

      Cheers,

      Thanks for the advice..
But I am not looking for a legal advice, I think I stated it clear...

I am asking about your opinions from the "marketing" side, do you think this will handle the customer and relief him towards the "I am got paid from your purchase" situation?

Actually, your first post is asking for legal advice. You said:

        Hence Michael's response.

    Mate,

I know you want to know from a marketing
point of view. But you still have to comply
    with the law.

If your asking people if it sounds ok...and you
dont comply with the FTC..whats the point of
    having the disclaimer?

You still should ask a lawyer.

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester
