Does anyone know how to do this?

Hey everyone,

Can anyone here tell me how to configure Wordpress so that when you post something, you see part of the post on whatever page you are at and then you have to click on a "continue" button at the bottom of the post and it takes you to the full post?

A good example of this would be at clicknewz.com. If you look at that site you will see what I am talking about. I am not affiliated with that site, it is just a good example of what I am talking about. Thanks in advance!

    You have options.

Either - Just insert the <!--more--> code wherever you want the break in the blog post.

or use a plugin like Bochgoch Home

Ok, so when I put in the "more" tag, do I have to create another page and put the rest of the post on it manually? I know this sounds dumb but I have never done this before in my life!

So Rick, how do you use it after it is installed?

No ... the more code automatically does that work for you.

Yes if you go into the Plugins tab in Admin, click, "New" and search for Post Teaser, it will appear in search results and you can install.

Once you do that, click on Settings on the left-hand side, and Post Teaser appears in the list. You can then edit some of the parameters--like what you want the teaser copy to say, etc.

      it's VERY easy

      Rick

P.S. the directions above me also work too...I just like using the plugin so it does it to all my posts automatically.

Using the <!--more--> tag is going to be your simplest option. You don't need to create a new page for the rest of the post, as wordpress will do it for you automatically. All you need to do is write your teaser text, click on the more icon above your post box, and then finish your post as usual. Once published, it will automatically display your teaser text on the front page, and the full post will show on it's own page when a reader clicks on the "...more" link.
