Strange Google anomaly
I just created a site and went live a few days ago -- no links from anywhere at all. I ran Traffic Travis and discovered my SEO was awful so I worked on that, getting it to an A and A+ for 3 KW phrases. That was Monday.
Monday evening I posted on the Rocket Theme forum (it's a Joomla site) asking a question. I posted a link to my site. No other links.
Yesterday I decided to do a Google search on my 3 keywords to see what I'm up against. I had done this a few weeks ago but not recently, so I typed in one of the 3 KW's. Amazingly my site was on the first page. Stunned. I followed by typing in the other 2 KW phrases -- they, too, came up on the first page.
Now, I know that an obscure keyword will sometimes come up in the number 1 position if there's no real competition -- but these 3 phrases are very competitive and I figure it will take me at least 3 - 6 months of hard work to get on the front page. I never expected to get there without one backlink in a forum!
Today I did my Traffic Travis search again. Guess what? I am nowhere to be seen in Google. I ran SEO Elite and discovered I am way, way deep in Google for one of the phrases - nothing for the others.
Now I am left scratching my head. What happened???? Did Google take a bite off my site and spit me out? This is very weird!
