Hi
I just want to ask that why don't i unsubscribe from opt in member list.I mean i know i can but if i don't want them to message me anymore about there filthy offers but still i want that video link which he sends me,then is there is something i can do if i want to save myself from offer.
I don't want to take name of that guy or these guys. You are not as good as frank kern or john reese. If frank sends me a message,i will surely read it.I know everybody is different but still if someone is good then you have to follow him.
These guys (other than frank or john) is not trustworthy.I only opt in there because i want a free ebook or free video series. But i don't permit them to send me his promotions.
Do you agree with me?

You seem to be asking if you can remain on a list and only receive certain emails from the marketer - but you do not want to receive any promotions.

No, you can not do that.

If you don't want emails from the marketer, unsubscribe.

If you sign up for a list - don't complain if you get emails. If you don't like what they send you, why do you want the free items they offer?

If you only trust two people - then only join two lists.

I don't necessarily agree with that point Kay.

Let's say I buy a WSO or product and then subscribe to the "updates" list for that product. The list owner clearly states that the list will be used for product update notifications only.

Several days later I start getting emails that are promotional and nothing to do with the
product or any updates. Surely I have the right to complain as they are abusing that list.

I have two choices, complain or unsubscribe. If I unsubscribe I then lose any update notifications the list was specifically designed for.

Had this happen on many occasions in the past.

    Regards

    Jeff

P.S. Hope alls well at your end of things ... haven't chatted in ages ;-)

You can't just take the free gift then expect not to get any promotional emails. That's the trade off.

I think you're asking about getting access to the free video/ebook or whatever that is being offered by someone when you optin to their list - so basically you want a copy of the thing being offered, but you don't want to get emails from them afterwards?

There's a couple of ways you can do this but don't forget the reason they are giving you the video or ebook or whatever is as a reward/incentive for you giving them your email address - and if you're not interested in what they have to say (as you've indicated in your OP) then why would be be interested in what they have to say in a video/pdf etc? Seems like you want to get the free stuff but give nothing back in return?

Anyway - to answer (what I think is) your question - a) if they email you the link then use a real but throw-away email address or unsubscribe once you have what you want, or b) if the link is given out on-site once you hit the "gimme the free stuff" button, then just use a non-existent email address.

I have to agree with what usher said if a marketer states the list will only be used to send updates then that's what I would expect to get, just up dates. If they are using that list to send me anything other than updates then I am going to contact that person and ask why they are going against their word.

I will also admit when I first started out I tried to grab every freebie going I soon realised that I ended up with a lot of junk that has now been deleted. We all go through the learning stage including oversubscribing to lists. Just choose one or 2 people you want to follow and just subscribe to their lists.

As mentioned in an earlier post if you want the freebie only, then you need to unsubscribe as soon as you have it

Then there's another option - filter the messages, when it's from certain email and for example the word "update" you get it... if it's not it goes to the trash. These things and much more are possible in most of the email software or even in Gmail.

You have an opt in box on your website. If I signed up for your it would you guarantee you will never "sell" me anything?
I find it surprising that a "fellow marketer" would start such a thread.
