Watch Free Movies online Niche?

I am interested in getting into the watch movie online niche for cpa commissions, but have a few questions.

I have seen sites like watchmovieonlinefree.com which allow people download or watch movies online for free. My question is related to the legal aspect of this industry.

I have been told that as long I am simply "streaming" these movies and are not hosting them it is legal. Does anyone have any insight or thoughts about this.

Also I have seen many sites that include a disclaimer like "divxmoviez does not host any content. We just ebed contents which are available in hosting servers."

There appears to be millions of these sites online. I am interested in the legal aspect of this industry as in some cases the movies just came out of the theater or may still be in some theaters.

Thank you for your help and thoughts about this niche. If you have any links or know where I can read more about it, this would be extremely helpful as well.

I believe that to be true but don't take my word for it, if youtube is hosting a movie then you are allowed to embed it. It is the person uploading it who can get in trouble, thats what I think.

Secondly, why would you go into this market when there are 10000's of better ones to get into. People go to them sites for 1 reason, to watch a movie, ads are just there and no one clicks on them.

If you embed movies from sites like hulu.com it's completely legal, as they are a legal site that owns rights to show the shows and want you to be embed their videos on your sites. However, if you are having people download movies for free, that's not legal most likely, as where are you getting the movies, on a torrent? Although, if you are just telling people to go to a torrent to download it and you do not host the movies, you are just passing on information, and are in more of a gray area. It is a gray area and I see huge sites that merely embed from other sites and claim they aren't liable, particularly some sports highlight sites that are quite popular and have advertising deals with major media corporations, so there may be something to that...but the best is to check the laws for yourself.

      Thank you for the input.

The sites that I have been looking at for embed movies are found on

      DivX Movies

These appear to fit the criteria that you mentioned where you are refering people to sites that own the rights to show the movie. Hulu is on the list.

My main goal is to find a niche that is in high demand and people would be willing to fill out a survey or something to have access to it like cpalead

This niche fits that criteria, but need to make sure so I do not violate any copyright laws.

It seriously doesn't, you think people are going to fill out a survey for 10 minuets so they can watch the latest episode of house? No, they will just go else where.

Movies and TV shows with content gateway are so saturated. Maybe try with ebooks, game cheats, templates, etc?

Hi, im currently in this niche and it is kind of a hard niche. I use the cpalead model but I dont host anything on my site, I just provide links to where they can watch the movie after filling out the survey. I also put a disclaimer on the site that states that I am only providing links. It works if you can get traffic to the site.

It is good to hear from someone who is in the industry. My first interest in this industry came from looking for sites for sale on flippa.com.

I following site was up for sale tvserieshub.com - Website for Sale: No.1 on GOOGLE TV Show / Movie Site $9,000 PROFIT in TWO months — Flippa

I do not own this site, but the owner was stating he has earned 4k and has 65k in visitors a month. From what I can tell he is using youtube to promote his site. I have seen some others that like using Facebook to viral up the the visitor count and also some that use twitter as well.

It seems that viral marketing works quite well with this site.

Thank you for you input. It is good to hear from someone who is actually in the niche.

        Again, it's relative.

What's hard for one person to accomplish maybe
"easy" for someone else. They just havn't (or won't)
        speak up about it here.

If you think about it, if you love movies and are
somewhat passionate about the topic, you should
be able to make money in it because the best
marketers are passionate marketers and love their
niche, topic, subject, and market (or learned to
        love it)

You know it's profitable. You know there's demand.
And it's what YOU want to do.

You say you have a marketing plan. Now it's time
        to do.

Not talk. Not check back in here. Just do.

Nothing wrong with getting a wide range of opionions,
but if you don't have a tough skin, you could let the
wrong opinions sway your decision. That's why I know
for a fact most people don't ever do anything because
everything they ever presented was a "bad idea".

People did it to me with ebay. I still went ahead and
did it despite criticism and saw good success before
ebay went a little nuts. But I'm glad I did it.

You'll be glad you did to.

        Go for it

There are tons of free tv shows you can link to when
people search for it on websites like hulu.com.

You said you want to do movies, so what I've seen done
is to simply link to a website where they share the
majority of the risk - they don't share all of it. If
something were to go down with your site, you MAY be
able to avoid it...but I'm told it likely won't happen.

    That's a choice you'll have to make.

You'll make money in it for sure with the right effort, and
if you keep a low profile (i.e. don't get TO big) you shouldn't
run into any trouble. But don't come back and say I told you
    to do it .

Most people here mean well, but sometimes, when they think
they have your best interest at heart, they're really thinking about
their own intrests and what works (or won't work) for THEM.

It's almost always a mistake to ask someone else's opinion on
what direction you want to go in your business so they can
tear it apart and call it "feedback". Especially when the person
giving the advice knows nothing about the kind of business you
    want to do.

If you want an expert opinion, get in contact with someone
who is doing it or has done it, and even then, don't take their
opinion completely to heart because they may try to sway
you from doing it if their already in that business to stop one
    less person from getting involved.

Best of luck to you, and just go for it.

P.S. This is not a personal attack on anybody, just my views and opinions like
    anybody else here.

Thank you for your insight and post. It is good to hear an objective opinion.

I guess when working in any potentially grey area, you need to stay low and out of site as much as possible.

I have seen or heard people making 4-9k a month in this niche and started looking into it further to see all of what is involved so I can pursue it further.

The key with any of our online ventures is the ability to obtain quality traffic. I have found methods for this niche to get the traffic, but wanted to consider all my options before jumping in with both feet.

Thank you again for your input and insight.

I do sometimes watch some streaming TV to catch up on a episode I missed

(normally I have it on DVD but not at work he he )

If I see an ad I click away from it right away.

If it is TV/Films you have an interest in, why not create a blog around that TV series. Post about each episode and include some products from Amazon etc

Might be worth while in the long run

I do to. I usually go to hulu and one other "unmentionable"
website to relax after a day of work. If I like the product,
I typically still support it by going to the movies anyway or
          buying the dvd .

It's a bit of a risky road to take. Most likely nothing will happen to you, but if the site gets to be very popular there is a high chance it'll be taken down. It's not really a secure niche to get into.

I too am in the free movies online niche.

However, our format is a "TV" show with a host.
And, we throw in some funny (stupid) bits.
So, we have to host the movies on our server.
So, we are limited to public domain movies.

Our niche is horror movies so we're limited.
But, we have found some pretty good PD movies. "House On Haunted Hill" with Vincent Price is one.
    (shameless plug) Welcome to GHOUL.TV

But, if you're not limited to a particular genre there are many good movies in the public domain.

One advantage of this format is the ability to include commercials. And, the host can plug his own merchandise.

If you're getting lots of traffic to your site you should consider selling ad space.
