Where do you sell your ebooks?

Anyone have a list or know of good sites that accept paid for ebooks?

I hear some sites produce better traffic than others.

    Are you selling it yourself?
Do you have your own website?

If your ebook is of value then that should be your starting point

Yes I do have my own website and have a large list, some of whom have bought the book. I now want to spread this wider.
What sites do you recommend for this?

Unfortunately Amazon Kindle is not available in the UK right now. I've not tried TradeBit.
My understanding was that there were a lot of ebook sites out there.
I found a few via Google, but some want a link back on the site etc.

If you want to find out more about Tradebit, look for ladyshadowrider's thread in the War Room.

      Hi Troy23,

Actually Kindle are running a beta test for the UK at the moment, so email them if they haven't put it on the site yet.

You still can't buy in the UK but the beta test allows you to sell from there now.

      Cheers,
      Colin

        Many thanks for that.

I will probably test it with a higher priced ebook though. Am concerned at Amazon taking 65% cut.

Thanks but I'm looking for ebook sites. Surely Warriors have written paid for ebooks.

    Hi Troy,

TradeBit IS a website where you can sell ebooks.

As Lynn suggested, to find out how to sell ebooks on TradeBit, check out my thread in the War Room where I'm offering my TradeBit step-by-step guide free to War Room members.

Don't know how much longer I will be leaving that offer up, so you'd better hurry.

Here are some other websites I've used to promote/sell ebooks:

    http://www.scribd.com/

Wow - thank you so much.

I knew Warriors must sell ebooks somewhere apart from their own sites.

I especially like the chapter free site you sent me.

I'll check out everything else including TradeBit.

Once again, many thanks for your kind input.

Why wouldn't you still sell through Amazon Kindle - it doesn't matter that they don't distribute the device to UK yet, there are still Millions of others around the world that can buy your ebook?

I was just checking out Tradebit. Seems most of the ebooks in my niche sell for only 1 to $5. Wouldn't that be bad for those who have ebooks selling for $27? I do see that some people have ebooks marked as "Free Preview" where you have to click an external download link to contact the seller. Maybe this is how most are doing it just to get their ebooks on the market place.

Tradebit is becoming known for cheap merchandise, I'm not sure I'd want a front line product of mine on there. I'd be more inclined to try that after it fell into secondary status.

Doesn't Amazon take something like 55% of the sale? Seems like a lot, but when you consider a lot people give away 60-75% away in commissions on Clickbank, 55% might look pretty good.

If you want to spread out, have you thought about opening an affiliate program for it? Get other people promoting it for you by offering a nice commission.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Sure, but I don't think the service is available in the UK yet. Also they take 65% commission which for a $7 ebook may not be worth it.

The Kindle has been international for quite some time now.

Most sites will take between 20% and 75% in "fees", "commissions" or whatever other term they have dreamed up to take a cut. If its $7 and contains advertising in the form of links to your site or affiliate links then you could offer it as a free WSO......and include giveaway rights so that it can be further given away provided the content is not changed in any way. Guess it depends on your objective....there is more than one way to make money than just sales.

Well I think that would only work for the IM niche. If for example your ebook is about alsation puppy training or MS Word tables I doubt there would be many takers for a WSO.

Lulu.com is OK. But it takes 20%, you keep 80%. PayDotCom allows to set up a shop and sell ebooks. Anyway they are not so eefective as my own site. I rather use it to check the demand, then get good income.
