oDesk to full time VA

A little while ago I saw a great post in here about how to hire a full time VA from oDesk (interview process etc.). I can't for the life of me find it again.
Does anyone know where it is?
Or perhaps have their own process that they use?

I realize this isn't exactly the answer you're looking for, but since no one else had replied I thought I could share my thoughts.

What's great about oDesk is that they offer a lot of flexibility, so you can start out small and work up. I like to keep the interviewing to a minimum when possible, especially on the lower end of the price scale because there are simply too many people.

I like to start them off with a small, relatively easy job. I'll either do a fixed price project or hourly but set a pretty low hours/week limit. One small 5 hour job will tell you 10x more about the person than a 20 minute interview. Especially on the lower end of the pay spectrum that's a very small cost.

If the first job works out, then I'd expand to a longer engagement and give them some harder tasks and more responsibility. This time gives you a chance to get to know them, figure out how they work, and just generally find out if they are the type of person you would want to work with long term.
