If you're serious about designing, I highly recommend you get Photoshop Top Secret - Photoshop Training

Slightly expensive buy worth every penny you spend. ONLY IF YOU'RE SERIOUS about PS designing.

I got it long time back and it boosted my skills through the roof.

Someone just posted an awesome free site that creates ecovers for free. I'm away from my main computer at the moment that has the site saved to it, but when I get home I can look it up.

Basically, all you have to do is download the template they give you, throw on some photos and text or however you want to design it, then use the site to process the ebook.

I'll post that site when I find it!

may be you need Action scripts to start with?

Action scripts are like "templates" that allows you to put your images/titles..etc..

Thanks for posting the site Rob. I didn't know they charged after the first few, but thanks for letting us know. It looks like a cool program and is definitely a better solution for me atm than buying photoshop for $500 or whatever it is. =)

there is a good book on photosshop for dummies and you can search for it on amazon.If you have cs4 there is also a book on that and thats a good place to find self tutorial

Hands down, cover action pro is the best tool for creating eCover graphics. We use CAP daily and have never once had a problem. The ecovers are very crisp and can be used in both web and print. Highly recommend it.
