How many WP blogs do you host 'per niche?' 1? 2?...4?

a) How many blogs do you 'blog traffic experts' typically install
-per domain? (as some install more than one)
-per niche? (as some install more than one)
(as some do more than 1)

b) or do you install more than one, on more than 1 domain...so multiple blogs on multiple domains?

c) or multiple blogs on just 1 domain?

does more blogs = more exposure = more traffic (if you do seo right)

I don't like to spread out the traffic in my niches by having more than one site.

I always stick to one domain name, one blog and one sales pages all under the same banner, one per niche.

Driving traffic to one site and building it into an authority is easier than managing two or three sites. Works for me, but others might have different experiences.

I've wondered about this myself. I added a Wordpress blog to one of my sites, and it's getting traffic (which is great) but it isn't building up my overall # of indexed pages.

      Let me try to explain...

My main site is www - my URL - dot.com

And my Wordpress blog is www. - my URL - dot.com/myblog

My number of blog pages keeps rising as I post new content, but the number of indexed pages for my main URL stays the same.

I was hoping that by adding a blog, and blogging, that my main URL would benefit from all of this new content. But it appears that only the blog URL gets this. Any thoughts on this?

        ROBVEGAS - If I were in your situation I'd immediately make sure;
        • I had Google XML Sitemap generator installed so with every change the site-map is rebuilt and Google notified.
        • Digg or share each post every-time you create one as well.
        • Also, I think content not already being in Google's search results hurts it a little BUT THAT COULD BE A MYTH.
I'm kinda new to this game so I could be wrong.

HIGHERPRTHANGOD (I dig your name, by the way...)

I do a lot of SEO on my blog posts...everything is bookmarked heavily, pinged, and winds up getting indexed. And I have the Google sitemap generator installed on my blog.

The problem is that Google seems to treat my blog as a separate URL, because it's on the "back end" of my URL.

Is there a trick that I'm not aware of? Is there a setting you need to change, so that if you have one, or two, or ten blogs attached to your URL, that all of the new blog content will be treated as new content for your overall URL/site?

The reason I'm curious is that I'm trying to break into the top 3 for a competitive keyword: "how to get girls"

The 3 sites that are above me (my site is macktactics-dot-com) have more indexed pages than I do. If Google WAS counting all of my blog posts as indexed pages, I'd be ahead of them in that area...

There is probably not a correct answer, it really depends on your strategy.

We have about 60 domains (and growing). Each has one website, some are blog format some are not. We do not have multiple blogs per domain. Quite often we have several domains per niche. For one competitive keyword, we have two domains on 1st page of google search and 1 domain on 2nd page. It does help to get more traffic, if you can "dominate" the google search results.

For some niches, we like to have several domains feeding traffic to the money-earning site, rather than having only the money-earning site.

If you have all your blogs on one domain, or all your domains on one server, then all of your revenue stops when your web server is down.

There are so many ways to do this, you just pick a strategy and work at it until you reach some level of success. Keep learning, keep improving.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

Blogging takes consist upkeep (if you want an authority blog. Some set them up for a money quickie but that can also die fast) and as was stated above some may go with one site or as Fred said mulitiple sites pointing to the money page. I think it depends on YOU. In other words some people are writing machines and can do this all day. They may be able to pull off multiple sites and blogs. Think about if you are a multi site personality
