ok ive been in affiliate marketing for some time now but mainly doing cpa stuff.

looking at getting into clickbank etc,, but got a few questions about "article marketting"

if i use ezine which seems to so well with longtail stuff then the problem i see is how many clicks the user have to make to but the product.

search--ezine--click to my site--click to product--click to buy

that seems like a lot and must but some people off.

do you guys think the advantages of using ezine etc.. outway the disadvantages of this number of clicks.

If i built my own site i would have more control, less clicks for the user etc.. but i guess much harder to rank for short term and also more expense

I use ezine and they are pretty good, but remember, you have to build up the ezine to actually rank too, in order to get better traffic.

Articlebase worked really good for traffic because people are using articles that we have written and posted them on their website, with links.

One good trick is that when someone clicks to your page after reading your article is to not have too much text on your page. Keep it short and to the point. You have to take into account the visitor has just read your 300 - 500 word article so keep your page short.

Thats why a lot of people use the review type of landing page, they then let the sales page do the selling.

yeh i was also thinking about keeping it brief on my own site and just get the user to click through.

i see what you mean about using the article as a review type of thing from the 1st person point of view

Yes, it's a long process, and painful. And if it doesn't work, you just wasted a ton of time.

But some sites let you put your affiliate right in the article and in your signature file. Try GoArticles.com.

I just use EzineARticles.com for a high PR link.

You can also buy a domain and forward it directly to the sales page. The article can serve as the warm up and hint at what is about to happen to them. As always, you want to choose products wisely that come with sales pages that flow well from your article.

thanx alexa i see what you mean.

your taking the reader on a "journey" making them think they really need the product.

Do you find getting them to optin reduces the chances of them actually buying the product then? or are you quite happy with getting the opt in to sell to later

For me next key advantages of ezine advertising are important: life-span, transferability, better response rates. I also realize that I can be affected with some disadvantages to ezine advertising: advertising in the wrong ezine and ezines with 90% Ads & 10% content. Many clicks to buy action is not a big problem, because anyway the main task is to build awareness to you product.
