Who Writes Product Reviews?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if there's any writers in here that specialize in writing product/service reviews (to use for affiliate promo)?

The few regular writers I use actually don't do it at all, so I thought I'd ask.

Also, I have another question for anyone who has experience as either the writer or the buyer...

Which is more common when hiring a writer to do product/service reviews:

1. Buyer purchases product (or gives access to their copy) for the writer
2. Writer buys product/service themselves out of their pocket
3. Writer bases the review on researching and cherry picking other reviews they find

Cheers
Jay

I have a lot of experience writing reviews, and as for the most common method, it is usually number 3. However, with higher end products, the buyer purchases. Please pm me if interested, hope that helped!

That's what I figured (most common being number 3).

I assume number 2 rarely happens but I thought I'd include it to cover all bases.

      Thanks and will do

Maybe for 2) you could send out an email to all the major vendors in your niche and ask for a review copy. Just a thought...

For me, it's definitely number 3. I personally have a site with over 40 reviews, and there is just no way I have the time to try every single one of those products. But you can do the research going to forums and other unbiased, independent sites.
