Alright, I've been putting together all the info that all the warriors have been giving me and this is my plan of action.

I'm going to put a couple articles about a few different dogs up in some directories..

Then those articles are going to point to a blog that will be generalized and have let's say 3 sections (house breaking, training, walking or whatever)..

In those sections will be smaller generalized articles that point to some kind of an affiliate link.

Is this going to be a good strategy to making money for a starter?

It's a great strategy, just keep in mind that dog training is very competitive. Literally every IMer I know has a dog training site. I don't mean give up, it's just going to take a little longer to see results. Just keep posting articles, I don't know that 3 will be enough.

Yea I know it's very competitive but my idea is well this..in a nutshell of course.

an article about picking the right bedding for a golden retriever and an article about poodles being one of the most intelligent breeds and why and what toys you need to stimulate their brain development and more articles would point to ONE blog that is general.
When I say general I mean it would have sections like one for bedding, not neccessarily for retrievers, and one section for toys and a section on food etc etc.

My question is should I micro-niche it? Like my bedding article should go to a blog JUST about bedding and the toy article to a blog JUST about toys etc etc.
Or is the big blog with sections a good idea?

    Well Ryan

That is the most concise summary of affiliate marketing I have ever seen.
There is a lot more detail that you will need to follow but as it is (assuming you know the detail) then its a start.

    Good luck

that sounds like a pretty good set up. However I would probably advise that you be specific. For example:

articles about dog training points to a website or blog about dog training.

website or blog talks about a specific area of dog training. Use stories and such to show your experiences in the field.

Have clear call to actions at the end of each article (on and off your blog) that link to either your blog or your affiliate link.

The reason i suggest you be specific is because ive always been told and ive always noticed that it is much easier to make a sale if the target you drive is 100% targeted. For example, if you drive target looking for ways to get their dog to stop doing the doo in the house. And your blog is promoting ways to get them to stop barking in the morning..you just lost a sale.

However your idea could possibly work, the only thing i really see wrong with it is that you are trying to target 3 seperate sub niches at once which can get overwhelming, especially if you have no experience in affiliate marketing at all.

Ok so should I prepare three or so seperate blogs to make each article go to their target?
I've been trying alot of things out and I seem to do ok in driving traffic it's the follow through I'm fumbling. of course the most important part.

The plan is good. But the numbers you wrote can break it. Two articles only? More efforts my friend. And more specific tasks for plan realization. In your post plan looks really general.

Great plan....rinse and repeat it again and again OR have a team do it for you.

Sad and funny story, but true:

I spent about the first five years of my IM life overthinking the everloving hell out of IM, and as a result, never got off my backside and actually did anything.

Then I did...well, pretty much what you detailed above. Funny thing, but I started seeing results. Am expanding from there.

You can make IM as simple or as complex as you want. But either way, the hard part about getting started is...well...getting started. Human inertia is a cruel mistress.
