Do us Warrior users = an huge list of email subscribers (hidden potential)?

Can the Warrior Forum users be used as email subscribers, to send email messages, content, promotions etc.

This warrior forum has a huge database of subscribers, joining daily (with their username + email here)

can this list of users be used as a subscriber base, to send out A-R messages to?

and also for forums generally, can the members of the forum be sent emails, to promote products or sent Free content for?

if so, what type of spam free message would have to be sent to each forum user, and what stage would this have to be presented to them? (like the aweber double optin email)

I MEAN CAN THE FORUM OWNER (allen) use the subscribers of this forum as subscribers, Not can we as regular members do this, as i know it is spam. Was just asking, for forum potential reasons.

If you mean can the forum OWNER email the users, chances are you gave them permission when signing up so they likely can.

If you mean, can we, as USERS, troll through and email other members if we find their emails, then no.

If you wanted to start a forum and have permission to email the users, you can set that up in the TOS or registration agreement.

Hope this helps as I'm not clear on what meaning you were going for.

You better be talking about forum moderators or else you will be suspected for PM Spam

haha, of course i meant that.

I MEAN CAN THE FORUM OWNER (allen) use the subscribers of this forum as subscribers.

I know if us regular members do this, it is spam.

I am asking, as i know some forums are potential for lists, and the forum owner has to be happy with messaging.

Well if you look at the header of this site there's an e-mail opt-in so theoretically Allen could use that as a list. By providing an opt-in, you give visitors the choice of receiving your material. I think it's bad practice to just start e-mailing all registered users of a forum without getting their permission first. I am part of several forums, both IM related and not and I've never been put onto a list without being asked first.

I haven't gotten any forum admin spam. I'm sure he could email all of us, but I doubt he would do that unless it were a critical forum message. Can he send us all a marketing messge ... an affiliate message? Probably, but it's not done.

If you want to start a forum, and that's your plan, I imagine it will turn off a lot of subscribers. Subscribers can unsubscribe just as quickly as they subscribed.

Allen has sent a PM or two in the past to all forum members. Obviously, it's very rare. So it's all the more special when we get 'em.

    Cheers,

I'm sure that there's a clause hidden somewhere in the TOS that would allow the forum owners and/or administrators to send out broadcasts of a marketing nature to us, but I sincerely doubt that he'd do it, as it'd compromise the integrity of this forum, which has made it what it is today.

yea, there are negatives, as people could unsubscribe, but as they gain so much value from this forum, but i suppose there is good potential.

As people can unsubscribe, if he targets older members, then there is a good change most of them will remain on the list. yea?

It isn't a list. We signed up to participate in a forum. We did not opt in to a list as in a marketing list. If I got regular marketing emails or pms from Allen, as if it were a list, I would find it annoying. That doesn't happen here. I've gotten one or two about the WSO Pro, but that could also be because I post WSOs, rather than because I am just a member ... and it didn't bother me.

I think that you should build up the forum with subscribers and valuable content rather than building a forum to use it as a list. I would think there's far easier ways to build a list than to build a forum to use it as one.

          Thanks.

          All advice is golden.

Can the forum subscribers be sent a squeeze page/opt in, to see if they want to optin to the free report, and future goodies? (as the forum is in the same niche as the squeeze page) ?

or could that annoy people? They can always choose Not to opt in? (hence giving them the option)
