Newbies: What do you want? Audio? Video? Guides? MindMaps? Pickled Fish? Goats?

Newbies...

When buying an info product on how to make money
and/or market online, what format do you prefer?

- Audio
- Video
- PDF's / Guide
- MindMaps
- Something else

All the above? A few of the above?

I realize everyone's learning style is different. I know
several people who would rather print off an entire
ebook and sit in their favorite chair with a highlighter.

Me, I'd rather have video with some mindmaps.

What about you?

What have you found works best for your learning
style?

    Hi,

I want PDF files to read and learn from and PDF files plus all of the others when they come with MRR because to resell things you need all the formats. To learn you need PDF. I don't watch many videos or listen to many audios but they sell better.

George Wright P.S. I'm an old newbie

LOL - This would def. be a VERY interesting upsell option
and get some attention out there, wouldn't it?

The only thing is, I have a feeling that we'd have to charge
per hour for the course in this case.

I enjoy well done videos backed up with written transcription.
But... really... the format isn't nearly as important to me as the
    content.

I prefer learning from a step by step video, along with PDF's I think reading locks it in the brain good, and a video gives you the visual that makes it a little easier to comprehend.

George, I wholeheartedly agree with you! I think too much emphasis has been given to videos, but PDFs are where much of the learning process can really take place, especially when you're dealing with learning complicated procedures that have many steps in them. You can print them out, turn to the pages that you need, underline critical steps and sentences, etc. When you watch video you tend to overlook many steps here and there, because it's really hard to follow along with the video playing, and it's also such a pain to skip to the part that you need as well! I think somewhere down the road marketers figured out that video was SO much easier and faster to produce (especially the screenshot/cast ones) than a well-written guide, and somehow the masses seem to think of videos as the best thing since sliced bread too! I still feel like PDFs (and not just simple transcriptions or Powerpoint slides either!) are indispensable and I'd never buy a course that was just mainly videos, for the reasons that I've stated above.

I much prefer a good combination of video and pdf.
The pdf's listing the steps with a video showing how it is done.

What I would like to see above anything else is something that actullay is step by step when the description states it is.

Pickled herring is delicious, but then there's nothing like a good pickled pig's foot!

As far as formats, I prefer to read PDF's, but I don't mind video and mp3's when I listen to them at 2x speed and learn what I need to quickly.

I'm definitely in the pdf camp too.

Honestly, some of the videos I have witnessed recently have been wonderful.....as a cure for insomnia!!

I end up trying to speed the video up just to find the main bits and to get rid of the dreary monotone voice, or the 'ums' and 'errs' etc etc..

Let me read it myself at my own pace in a pdf.....and by all means do what Kevin riley does and show step by step screenshots and you can't go wrong

I'm biased as my main internet connection is my cell phone. Makes it hard to download many videos as I have to watch my data usage.

I prefer PDF with fleshed out content not just a list of what's on the video, but I realize most people aren't like me.

PDF with plenty of screenshots. I've been burned too many times with videos where the narrator doesn't speak clearly or waves & zigzags his cursor around confusingly, etc., & where I have to nearly wear myself out replaying portions & taking notes.

A nice little goat would be nice, too!

PDF for sure. It's so much easier to use as a quick reference guide.

Videos are great as a companion but on their own they make it too hard to find the information you're after.

I launched 5 WSO's today and tried to include a
little goat, but it was against both the forum TOS
and USPS shipping regulations. Darn. I tried!

I like both video and an accompanying pdf.

The video gets my interest first of all, then the pdf gives me the reference to highlite and learn from.

This combination is what works best for me.

Like others, a .PDF and videos are great. The .PDF being the main source while the video backs it up, offers a visual, and can clear up questions.

Videos and audios seem to sell better as it seems like you'll get more value than just a typed up .PDF.

Lots of visuals! Videos showing step by step tutorials!
Lots of big print pdfs! Showing clear, no fluff instructions with nothing left out.
And yes, I would like a goat.

    Dammit!

    This thread proves everything!

The reason why the big "Product Launches" are not
doing as well as they did in the past has nothing to
    do with the economy...

... It's because marketers are breaking the GOLDEN
RULE - supplying people with exactly what they want.

People want goats! The answer to all of our marketing
    headaches.... Fainting Goats.

A pdf guide outlining the strategies or "how to do it" and a video case study which showing "how you did it" and most importantly the "results".

It will surely makes the product stand out from the rehashed junks.

    Pdf's for sure.

Videos would be good if folk learn to EDIT before releasing the finished product!
In my experience many hour long videos contain info that could be provided in 10 minutes.
