Should I focus on one niche in a blog or several?

Right now I have a blog, How to Lead a Better Lifestyle, and it focuses on a few different niches. I have recently started sending traffic to it. I was wondering if I should stick with this blog and write articles and etc. for the multiple niches or if I should create a different blog that focuses on only one of those niches and concentrate only on that one niche.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Main thing is you don't get spread too thin. I'm betting you could handle a couple more, but focus on your best performing, and then build the others as time allows.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

  • I've tried generalist blogs and they don't work anymore. They used to, but people's surfing habits have changed. It's not like the '90s when people would just go down the rabbithole, start by searching for tax information and end up reading about the Great Pyramid. Search engines like "contextual relevance" too.

If you want to write about several topics, I would recommend starting several blogs.

I think your blog looks good. You've done a great job with it. I would stay focused on your main two niches that you have going, and see where it leads you.

If you are just getting started, just focus on one niche and one blog for at least one month. Drive traffic, and see what you get in terms of sales.

But don't make the mistake that most newbies make: They focus on traffic and backlinks and don't really care about conversions and sales.

    I told ya!

Focus on one niche and get that going. Also if the niche doesn't make you money consider testing something else instead of sticking with a non-performing site (I made that mistake last year and it cost me a lot of money, time and headaches).

If you want Google organic traffic from good rankings, dig deep in one niche. Google likes tightly themed blogs.
