FLIPPING Silent Joint Ventures - Newbies MUST Read!
Last week I was amazed at a sudden spike of sales for a product of mine, they basically skyrocketed (record wise). The funny thing was, all sales were made by the same affiliate, an affiliate I never heard of and I couldn't track his ID down.
Anyway, one of the people who purchased the product through that link said to me in an e-mail (along with some customer support questions):
"...your system is amazing, I immediately picked it up after I saw a promotional e-mail for it on [Insert Marketer's Name] list, nice job..."
I was like "WTF?! [Marketer's Name] is promoting my product?!" (He has given me permission to post this, but he wants to remain anonymous).
This wasn't a launch at all, the product has been live for about a month now.
So I contacted the guy and after a while this is what he said to me:
"I saw the new version of [Insert My Product's Name] and it was very good, you nailed down on.......I really took a chance with your product, because to me as an experinced marketer it is of ZERO value, but to [audience it is directed to] it's worth gold. I was shocked to see that it also converted like gangbusters.
Let me know about your upcoming products on [Insert Niche] and if they are as good as this or better, I won't hesitate to help you with the promotion..."
I don't want to bore you to death with the details, so I won't post the entire message. But basically, this guy is a BIG name and has a list of tens of thousands.
Did I contact anyone for a JV? Nope. Everything just came around as a big name really liked my product.
So...
Leasons Learned
1. Newbies: Don't worry too much about contacting 10,000,000 people to promote your products and land huge JV partners, if your products are good, this sort of thing will naturally come around (doesn't matter what niche it is).
2. Big Names: NEVER underestimate a newbie just because he doesn't have the experience, brand positioning, or the product is of little value to you (because of your experience). I made this guy a small fortune and I have only been in IM for less than 4 months.
Best of luck,
