Help starting membership site please.

Hello fellow WF enthusiasts,

I am new to the forum and have paid for participation in the "War Room". I'm interested in starting a membership site so I purchased a package from the WR which provides content to use however I need a good blueprint to follow.

I've read about the many different options available from scripts to turnkey sites but quite honestly, the more I read the more confused I get.

I'm looking for good suggestions from those that are willing to offer some insite regarding how to start.

Thanks Much

      Hi Frank,

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Secondly, I'd suggest not taking in too much information at once. Information overload is a bit of a pain! There are a ton of strategies you can utilize online and it's easy to bounce from one to the next because there are never ending options.

I'd stick with just the quality resources from the previous post to get a general feel.

Anyway, hope you're enjoying the forum!

Thanks for the suggestions thus far, well taken. I will be checking out the resources provided. I did make a purchase from a warrior that promised to help after the fact but unfortunately I haven't gotten a response since I made the purchase, good reason I'm sure.

Staying away from scripts is probably a good idea, thanks. I need suggestions like that. I would like to make the right decisions from the start so I'm not disappointed later.

Use Easy Member Pro. I've been involved with this script from the beginning and, with their latest version, they've created a solution that will exceed most people's expectations.

I've checked out many of the threads suggested and came across Wild Apricot. Does anyone have any experience with this site?

    Thanks

I don't know what that "fruit" is... but speaking of membership sites here are a few things to consider.

Before deciding on script/membership software I hope you already have a (more or less) clear picture about your target audience; i.e. who are your potential members and where/how can you reach them.
If you lack that "small" detail - no software will help. (Benn there done that...)

Also, I hope you have an idea what kind of membership site you want to create and what exactly will you offer.
N.B. The simplest 'membership' is to offer a subscription to your newsletter/e-course/whatever for X amount for a Y period of weeks/months.

My advice would be to think over all these details, eventually, get some reports about the topic and read them... and after that start to look for a script that would fit your needs.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck!

Istvan hit it right on the head there is a lot of planning to be done before you spend the time to put one together check out the all in one thread use word press for your platform when your ready use memberwing or wishlist member for your script/plugin content that is now available everywhere is a good starting point but do not rely on it and certainly do not rely on it to draw in members.

plr mrr sites are a dime a dozen and the prices to join is dropping even more I have seen some now offering 7-9 bucks per month you have absolutely got to get creative and make yourself stand out be UNIQUE has a unique service or product that is exclusive to members people love exclusiveity .plan ahead how are you going to get more content are you going to outsource it are you going to write it or make it yourself. etc... That is enough for now

    Hi Frank,

Welcome, good to hear your making a membership sites that is truly the way to go in my opinion. Long term ongoing revenue.

If it where me I would use the rapid action profits script, That way you can start a membershipsite and lock weeks, and month's and have it restricted. So if your member is new they can't access the content yet.

You could also make it hands free by loading each month's folder with great content and then give a large commission to affiliates to promote for you.

That way you can have a set it and forget it membership website.

Anyway, hope you're enjoying the forum!

    Cheers

Getting members is one thing, getting them to stay and be active is another. It's not easy, trust me. Having a working membership system is the first step though, I guess.

Membership site is the way to go.

I do several membership ****s. I will tell
you two of the niches. Even with competion
      I do well in both.

Do a membership on what you know and are
      passion about.

Ready, two of mine are on motorcycles rallies
and how to run your own contarcting buisness.

I was in the contracting business for 23 years
and I can answer most questions my customers
      have.

My wife and I going to motercycle rallies since
the kids have left home. We have seen and
witness more things that grown ups do, than
      can be publicly talked about.

See I love both of these niches and can talk
to you for hours about either one.

So start your first membership site on something
that you know inside and out. You'll get the
      subscribers.

      Hope this helps..

    Very Simple.

    1. Buy a domain
    2. Load Wordpress
    3. Purchase Wp Member plugin
    3. Add content
    4. Market

Example: How to set up your own online Business Internet Marketing Course

Alternate: Steps 1 to 2 and then password protect pages and deliver via email and use Paypal Subscription.

    Example: http://thaiprojects.com
