Good luck to you with it! I love doing it. If you make a not of Ezine guidelines and follow through with them, you will do just fine. I've never had a problem, I have 15 live over the 16 days I've done it,, and over 1000 views so far!

It does seem like article marketing is becoming a big numbers game over quality. While quality still plays a major factor there are so many people starting to do it that your articles are getting harder to rank for keywords. I would suggest pushing out as many quality articles as you can and finding a short cut method to doing it or outsourcing it.

Learn how to structure a article as well to give it your maximum click thrus. I wrote up a little bit on it in my blog if your interested.

  Thanks for the great video summary of Chris Knight's talk. It is interesting that he is talking about quantity over quality. He's not advocating submitting total garbage, obviously, but that you shouldn't be slaving over every article you write to make it absolutely perfect. Just make sure you deliver on the promises in your title and you're solid with them.

very good! Interesting, i had this thought in the back of my head since i came across some of those sites you listed..and my brain somehow started working.

For example, i got a news letter in regards to SEO in my email, it had an interesting article in it. For some reason i googled where this article was from and i was totally surprised that it originated from one of the above sites. It immediately clicked that i better should submit some articles there myself and they might get HUGE and very targeted exposure!

Remember: you're marketing WITH your articles. They're a means to an end. Too many put the emphasis on the article and not enough on the marketing.

I won their 100 challenge last year - I have periods of mass-submission but I wasn't even aware I'd entered, so assumed it to be an auto "trigger" kind of thing.

To answer you Paulie, I write in word.doc, then copy/paste to my notepad, then copy/paste notepad into EZA (or wherever), so yes, I would always use an editor - as indeed most article directories will suggest/insist too.

To follow up a point on uploading articles on to Web 2.0 sites, I started my free trial of SE Nuke last night.

I have at least 40 niche related articles up, approved and indexed on Ezine.

I started spinning those articles and adding to Web 2.0 properties yesterday.

Going to be interested in the results that come from it.

I have already 796 live articles at EzineArticles.com and after everything that I have studied and observed about article writing and marketing what I can tell you is that you should spend a lot of time looking for the best keywords for your title, and make it very attractive for the reader. Your title is essential. Never choose a title in a hurry, without looking for the right keywords, and repeat the title´s keywords at least once in the article body, but no more than once or twice.

Use synonyms when you want to repeat your main keywords, or better saying, use different keywords in the entire article, but write for your readers. Give real information or guidance. Make them feel that they have learned something by reading your article... so that they may care about learning more about this topic at your website. They have to learn something with you by reading your article so that they may believe that they will learn more with you if they will care about your work.

to get the old high school english out of me.

Writing...essentially, is what brings in the sales.

  For an Eza article it doesn't matter much IMO. Better CTR with a real link, because people need to know they can click it. Use anchor rich text on sites that actually get scraped/published, like ArticlesBase, that'll build you backlinks.

EzineArticles seems to be on top of their editorial reviews at the moment. Lately I've been getting approval in about 24 hrs. An article that I submitted last night at 2 am (US eastern time) was approved by 3 pm today.

I don't have a premium membership.

On the other hand, I haven't been able to log into Article Alley for the last week and I've received an email from them saying that there's nothing wrong with my account nor with the user id and password. It seems there is an error with their system which is preventing authors from logging in.

UPDATE: It looks as though Article Alley have managed to get their act together and correct the problem they had with authors logging in. It seems to work fine now.

Wow Brad...for a seasoned professional, Im a little surprised to hear that you dont already do a lot of article marketing. ???

Theres a thread on here somewhere that a member shared about, how best to "summarize" your article, to increase CTR. I thought it was quite useful, so Ill share it here.

At the end of your articles you might want to try this...

Let's recap what we've learned in this article:

Observe the keywords, title, introduction, content and writing style.
