  Totally agree that the effort is the same whether your product costs $17 or $600. You still need to have a product, have some sales copy and drive people who want the product to your site.
  
  I'm not saying that $17 products don't work or don't make any money, but you could probably make even more if you sold higher end products

Wow and congratulations!

I have a few questions, too:

1. Was it a physical product, a service, or a digital product?
2. Did you have personal experience with the product?
3. Do you market to a list or was the sale through search traffic?

I'd love to tackle higher ticket items but I started out with low dollar items and have had success so I've been focused there for awhile. I've wondered if it takes more knowledge or experience with a larger dollar item to market it or do you find the same rules apply as with lower dollar items (ie, content, traffic, promote, etc.)?

I once lucked into a sale that paid a $450 commission because of some furniture the visitor bought in addition to the lower dollar item I was marketing and I walked around high as a kite for a week. It sure does give the old adrenaline a kick, doesn't it?

Ill answer your questions as best as I can, however I wont be disclosing EXACTLY what I am selling for obvious reasons.

1. Was it a physical product, a service, or a digital product?

A digital product.

2. Did you have personal experience with the product?

I have had some exposure to the product, yes.

3. Do you market to a list or was the sale through search traffic?

The traffic was literally captured overnight from a forum.

BTW - It took less than 48 hours to get the site up and operational.

Forums are so underestimated. Forums are far too brilliant for getting targeted traffic, but lets keep it a secret guys :p!

I have just had a look at your blog, it seems a little bit boring if that is ok. If you are trying to get people to buy from it, then you will have to put something exciting like a utube video or a exciting article on it.

The thing is....

Im not doing anything fancy. Nothing different or new. Infact, Im not using a sales letter, I dont have an optin, and Im certainly not following any "secret strategy" or "clever marketing" system.

I just found a need for a high end product, that is not available to people trying to find it - and I gave it to them.

The whole point of the exercise is this.

If you want to make BIG money online, then you gotta stop wasting your time trying to push $7 ebooks and start promoting HIGH END PRODUCTS.

This kind of shows that the 1000 dollars in 24 hours thing is not impossible at all.

Good luck on increasing traffic and sales. If you can sell one after one day, you can sell 10 each day 6 months from now.

Just keep hanging out in that forum and write articles or videos similar to the discussions you are participating in there.

I sell a whole lot of $17 a pop products. Actually pays the bills. Sell them over and over. $15 here, $25 there over and over. I also sell my share of $2 products, $8 products.

I must be doing this wrong.

I'm sure there are a lot of buyers in the higher markets... but I wouldn't wager on it.

But hey if one sale is proof, then so be it.

Sure dude, although I havent spent a great deal of time researching this method -- I was just messing with it the other night. Found some interesting stuff though.

Go to Google.com and type in...

"order now" + "downloadable pdf" + $197

Change it up as you need. Try mixing up the keywords such as "immediate download", or "immediate access" etc etc. I guess you could probably change up the "downloadable pdf" to whatever youre interested in finding also. Maybe "coaching program" , or "resale rights" etc etc.

The price, well, the skies the limits

Hope this helps.

Also, I dont get hung up on commissions. If it looks like a high end product that I can replicate and enhance, Ill go for it. Of course, when I say replicate I dont mean COPY!

Congratulations. I think you are probably in the best field "Electronics" it is what everybody wants. This is the best sellers on Ebay,Amazon...etc everyone wants the lastest electronics. I also believe the price of the item must fit the product. You cannot charge $200 if the product is worth $10 you will not be in business long. The word will get out quick. I hope everyone here is not going to now overcharge the buyer..give your buyer a "Fair price" and you will be around longer
