    Everything! lol.
I make it so they can pay for my services/products very very simply. I also think it looks more professional if you accept a lot of payment sources. Nothing to hide type thing. If they want to pay by check, let them. It's all money!

Have as many sources as you can (paypal, google checkout, check, money order, authorize.net and ofcourse CASH!). This makes you a little more credible.

Yes, have a variety of payment options!

My advice, and the professional route IMO is to open a business bank account and install a credit card terminal at home or office and take payment via card over the phone!

For subscriptions use your bank and a standing order or direct debit facility they will offer. Just have a ready made form with all details filled in, i.e:

    Your Bank Account Details
    The Monthly Fee
The Date The Fee Is To Be Taken

Then get your client to fill in there details and forward the form to their bank! Thsi way, you will be paid automatically each month from bank to bank!

I know from experience that not every offline business owner likes paypal!

This route is easy to setup, standard within the business world and offers professionalism on top as well!

    Just a thought!

Just sent a Paypal invoice a couple minutes ago. Use them more and more often.

People get used to pay that way and for me it's damn simple, specially for recurring fees, using Subscription option.

I pay 30$ a month or something to paypal for the recurring option where they take the money from my clients account on the 30th of every month. I used to let clients e-mail me checks... but the payments were just getting to delayed, setting them up on recurring is a must in my opinion.

    Hi,
Paypal has a feature that allows you to generate invoices using Outlook or Quickbooks and send via e-mail. In the invoice just state all types of payment. Then you enter into your accounting based on how they paid. The paypal invoice will just 'expire' or go unpaid. When you accept a non-paypal payment, just remember to delete the paypal invoice.

    Success,
    Sam
