Adsense for my articles on membership site?

Tough issue for me here.

I have a membership site with free articles. I receive anywhere between 1000-2000 page views a day. I do get sign ups (not as many as I want to) but I'm wondering if I should put adsense on my article pages (I have about 300 now).

Will this deter users from signing up on my site? Can I potentially make some good money doing this? Does this conflict with my IM goals of conversion on my site?

Thanks

I deends on the nature of the webstes etc.

But seening as you are one of those people with hundreds of sites, I would say yes sure why not stick adsense up? You could possibly see a good return.

Why not test it out by putting adsense on a few sites and see how it goes?

Oh and by the way, as you probably know, Google is becoming more and more selective as to who they allow join adsense, make sure there is no repeat content on your sites etc.

Thanks for your input but I only have 1 site and all the content is original. This is why I'm not sure about it. I want users to stay and sign up, but... I'm wondering if I'm incorporating the correct business considering the numbers.

I think it can do a bit of both, you will lost visitors to the other ads, who will be potential visitors to your site, and if they go to a better site than yours (in their view) there is a big chance they will come back.

Good money? you can try and see, for 2-3 weeks how much revenue you get, and if it isnt much, then simply remove the ads!

You might try an unobtrusive Adsense ad location as a test. Put them on the pages in a spot or two where it's not really blatantly in your face. See what kind of CTR you get. Adjust if you need to. But with that kind of traffic (1000-2000 per day) you will probably earn some decent money, even without putting the ads right in peoples' faces like over at EZA.

    Zeus,

Good point! But I'm not getting 1000-2000 visitors a day. I'm getting 1000-2000 page views per day.
