Plain text vs. HTML newsletter format in emails?

Plain text vs. HTML newsletter type of format emails in your auto-responder?

Seems the HTML one's get easily sent to the SPAM folder in many cases.

  • HTML looks better than plain text. If the HTML goes to the spam folder, the text version would too though less likely. If someone read the plain text version, the simple and plain version give the feeling that this is really cheap stuff, and it does not come with a punch. Tough call. Either is not a winner as both have their weaknesses and strengths. Seem like it is the individual preference that will be the deciding factor. Personally, I will go with the HTML. It looks better. I prefer to be associated with quality rather than just simple (cheap). There is no right or wrong.
