RSS feed -- I need help guys!!!

Well just a brief summary about me. I am just new in this IM world and just start to build some blog to try to if I can earn some money. So also I've started learning about SEO.

I know maybe this is a newbie question for many but i am still a newb so I need help.

My question about RSS Feed:

1. What this really does? I mean is this for getting traffic to your site or just used to get you site or blog to get index by search engine faster?

2. I am submitting RSS Feed to as many sites as I can. I have 15 RSS feed site as of now where I submit my blog RSS Feed URL. Is this right or just a waste of time?

I had been confused in this thing cause reading through this forum, I have read some post where it seems that they only use RSS Feed for your site to get index in search engine and they are submitting only to 3 to 4 RSS Feed site.

I hope someone can help me...

    Regarding SEO RSS feeds are mostly used to get your links out there. You can use them to distribute links to your own sites, but also to any page that LINKS to your site.

    Apart from that there are many, many more things that can be done using RSS.
    • You can use it to distribute your content to other sites.
    • To distribute news into membership sites.
    • To display news inside of software apps and scripts.
    • and more.
