Question about redirects...

Hi,

I'm working on creating redirects and am confused about how it works, so perhaps you can help.

My question is in 2 parts.

Part 1: The Process

1) an article on a database linking to a squeeze page contains a redirect with a tracking code tacked on the end. ie: mysite.com/Recommends/squeezepage.php?kw=test1

2) the squeeze page contains 2 options: a) opt-in and get automatically taken to my offer, or b) No thanks - bypass opt-in and go directly to the offer.

I'm wanting to put another redirect with tracking code as the b) No thanks option but I'm wondering if it's necessary.

Will the tracking code from the article (1) be followed through the No Thanks link to my offer? In other words, if I do not put a tracking code on the squeeze page, will I still be able to see that people are coming from the article redirect link to get to my offer page?

Part 2: Is it a good idea

The other part to my question is what you think about putting the bypass link on the opt-in page. The idea is that if they don't what your freebie, they can still get to the offer, so you don't lose them all. At least they will see the offer. But I sure would like to be able to follow where they came from.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Sylvia
