Advice and direction one step at a time?

Good day fellow warrior members. Yes I am a newbie...Take it easy on me will ya. So I have a few questions on getting started. I am not so new that I do not understand concepts and strategy although I think I will always be learning and trying to grasp new and better ideas/concepts. I am looking for advice a little at a time. I want to try to fully understand something before I move onto the other parts. I am hopeful in the end I can put it all together and run a few or many successful campaigns. Forgive me if I am out of order or ahead of some things as I am just thinking and brainstorming now in my research and education phase.

1. I have think I have received some great knowledge and understand keyword research and even have some very nice long-tail keywords that I plan on targeting. My first question is do most guys try to promote their own product (I have a few ideas in mind) or do you prefer to use affiliate marketing since the product is already out there. I guess my question is if you do the affiliate thing where do most go to find the product (Clickbank) and how do you determine which is a strong product to promote?

2. Now after I have a nice product, I am looking for info on best traffic generation ideas? How to get indexed and stay at the top. I know there are many strategies for SEO ie: Article Marketing, Video Marketing, PR marketing etc.....I would appreciate some advice on which is best and in which order.

I know this is a lot of info to ask for. I am not asking you to flat out coach me through it....although that would be nice, but just point me in the right direction of where I can find some good qualified resources that you seem to be reliable and very useful. Obviously free is better for a newbie, although I would love to make some money and really reinvest in some great tools and education. I do have a few courses that I think I have learned a great deal from. Some more than others and some I feel have great parts and not so great parts (as if they left out the key part to tie it all together). I am a trial and error type learner and a hands on type of person, but some good direction would be a nice to get me started with my trial and errors. WOW that was long. I appreciate all who are willing to help me out and point me where I need to go.
Thanks,
Matt

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.
