But looking at the courses available, I'm overwhelmed.
I just want to get better at skills which will help me in internet marketing.
For example: Building a simple webpage to begin with and then maybe graduating to something else that's highly useful.
So far, I've only learned how to put up WordPress sites - but sometimes, WP doesn't seem like the way to go.
In fact, I'm currently working on implementing this WSO which seems to recommend building non-WP sites (simple, one page sales pages) because they are apparently easier to transfer to the new owner (WSO is about building and than Flippa'ing your site)
WSO does not go into site creation (it's assumed we have that already down - LOL)
So, to begin with, I'm looking for info on building a basic site with Header across the top, a page with one or two columns down the middle, (fixed width with plain color on either side) and no navigation. Will HTML course be sufficient, or should I expand on that?
Where do I begin to learn how to create such a beast and what course should I take, obviously, HTML is on the menu, but what about XHTML or Joomla or CSS or others?
If you could only take one course in Lynda.com (this is you now, not me) - what would YOU take? And if you want to recommend what I should take - that's great also.
