Paypal has just given me over $100 bonus?

I have just checked my paypal and they have credited my account with over $100 dollar and labelled it bonus from paypal.

I don't use my paypal account to buy from any major retails except about $50 with Amazon a few weeks back. So it's not any form of store bonus or kickback.

Has anyone else had this.

I think what paypal does now is rolling reserves. So they reserve a certain amount of money that goes through your paypal. And at the end of the reserve period it gets put back into your account as a "bonus".

If Jesse is right, and I suspect there is some truth to that hypothesis, then that's not a good thing. It's not free money or a bonus no matter what label they give it. They're keeping part of the money you have coming to you, probably collecting interest on it, then giving it back to you later. That makes it sound like they're helping themselves to interest free loans from their users.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Surely if they had been reserving my money I would have noticed a discrepancy between my how much money I have made in sales and the amount in my account I have not noticed this.

I was looking through my paypal to figure this out. I realize paypal did give me a bonus back in December for only like $1.95. I then checked my rolling reserve deposits and I had no reserve coming back into my account for that amount. So I am now just as confused as you. I wonder.......Is paypal feeling guilty for there bad customer service? Or something?

All the years I've had a Paypal acct, I never received any bonus or had any rolling reserves held back. I always have money in the account, so maybe they don't feel they need a rolling reserve for chargebacks.
