Hi All,
As the title suggests, I am a Newbie in need of help. I am very interested in affiliate marketing, but I am looking for advice on picking a hot niche, anyone willing to share your techniques or tools?

Regards

    HI dempse2000,

This is such a broad topic.. you first need to know basics of affiliate marketing if you have not already. Then find the niche/s you are already interested in. Choose the product for the niche and Choose the method, Free marketing/paid marketing

It would be lot easier if you start with niches you already kow.

I have started affiliate marketing without knowing any thing, it was hard to me to proceed further in IM with knowing the niche.

    Thanks,
    Ravi.

I am not in the affiliate marketing field myself (I create my own products), but there are quite a few affiliate marketers on this forum.

Just look around a little, and you will find an overwhelming amount of (sometimes conflicting) advice.

Before you pick any niche, you need to do the following things.

      1. Make a business plan.
      2. Learn how to do keyword research.
      3. Learn marketing methods.

Your request is so open ended, there is no way anybody can give you any
kind of an answer that will help without writing a novel here.

I suggest getting yourself a mentor who specializes in affiliate marketing.

Yes, you WILL have to pay for this.

Well said Steven it took me a long time to get this right but you hit this one right out of the ballpark. You have to plan if you want to win and learn all you can along the way.

There are lots of resources available if you go around the forum. Not only that, just surf and see how many resources such as videos, ebooks etc. you can gather on anything.

Use the forum to clarify any doubts or questions you have. That will help you. All the best....

My advice would be to go to thirtydaychallenge.com. Need to put www in front. Sign up it's free and you gets loads of video's taking you through every step. Very professional produced and free.

Alternatively if you go to marketsamurai.com sign up for the free trail (you can also get through doing the 30DC and get a longer trial) watch there training videos and that will give you loads of ideas

Lastly you can go to kickstartdaily.com by martin avis who is on here. Sign up for his free newsletter (worth doing anyway) and there is a link to his 30 lessons on IM and he goes through keyword research.

If you are serious about this, do all 3.

    Good luck.

Oh and stay focused. If you go down these routes, stick them out and do not get distracted by all the other make money quick free stuff that you come across.

    Cheers

      I agree with Paul.
I also agree with Steven. :-)

Start at thirtydaychallenge.com, get familiar with the material and start taking action! Don't just "dabble", you're either serious or you're not. People will be much more inclined to help someone that's serious and taking action.

Definitely stay focused! Stick to one thing and don't jump from one opportunity to another. This is a BIG newbie killer. Honestly, it tends to screw up those of us that have been around awhile too sometimes.

After you've familiarized yourself with the basics, then find a mentor. You'll make it easier on both of you if you know the basics first. I'm talking about familiarizing yourself with the terminology associated with affiliate marketing, etc.

      My two cents.

Thank you all for your replies and advice so far.
I am interested in affiliate marketing, But I believe before I consider what product to promote (Info Product eg. Clickbank), I need to find a niche market with high volume keyword searches.
If you are reading this and are a successful affiliate marketer, I would appreciate your input or advice. What do you do at step one before you pick a product?

Before I pick a product I do keyword and niche research to see if that
      niche is potentially profitable.

That is what you need to learn. Nobody in this thread can teach you
niche research here. It's a good 30 to 50 pages of information.

        Hi Steve,
What may I ask do you suggest I should do right now to move forward?

If I were in your place right now, just starting out, and didn't want to waste
a ton of time trying to weed through a maze of information that may or may
not be relevant, I'd go get myself a mentor to teach me how to do market
research on a niche. First, I'd have him show me how to go about even
          narrowing down the choices.

I can't say more than that without this coming off in any way as being
self promotional. No, I am not trolling for students. In fact, I turn away
most people who apply because I am very picky about who I work with.

But maybe somebody here can offer some suggestions as far as other
members of this forum who will teach you this info at a fair fee.

Your only other option is to seek out a reputable book on this subject.
Problem with that approach is that unbiased reviews are almost impossible
to find. Most are usually followed by an affiliate link.

This is the best advice I can give you.

    Hey there!

    1. How do you plan on driving traffic to your pages? (Any ideas yet?)

    2. Do you have a budget, or do you only want to start the free route?

As a start I would try to find quality affiliate program with at least $20 commission per sale in a proven market where people are STARVING for a solution and are emotional.

These markets will convert without much "selling" on your part.

As a beginner I would not recommend promoting the internet marketing niche, because you may find it difficult to convince people about products and of course buyers are aware of affiliate links and all that...

    But...

...in places like the relationship niche for example (hint, hint... :-) people don't know what an affiliate is and they are very passionate about finding a solution to their problems...

I use Micro Niche Finder to find suitable niches with high search traffic and relatively low competition. I then build websites and blogs around those that I find. I have seen some of these in the top 2 google pages for the keywords within 2 weeks! Let me know if I can help and check out the Micro Niche Finder videos on Niche Blog Sales

dempse, Paul gave you links to three free resources that include detailed tutorials.

I suggest that you do Lesson 1 of all three.
Type up your notes about what you learn.
Post those notes here to share what you learned.
Did those lessons help answer your questions about how to choose a niche?
Do you think that more of those courses will help you?
If not, what else would you prefer to learn instead?

You've been shown the path to the free buffet, and yet continue to ask other people to make you not hungry. Meanwhile, Steve's suggested that if you don't want to learn to cook by reading or watching a video, you hire a chef to give you cooking lessons. Use what is already offered! Get those links from Paul's message then close the Warrior Forum until you return with your notes, comments, and questions about Lesson 1!

Well let me start off by saying. People buy all manner of things, over the years I have literally stumbled on some niches which convert daily, but I would myself never buy the products. So always keep an open mind when you go into niche research.

Niche research is great and you can spend days, weeks even months doing but at the end of the day you have to make a decision.

Be sure to check out shareasale and cj.com for advertisers and if your stuck on choosing. Go with 3 and 1 of them usually will pan out. Thats how I have done it for years. Sometimes all 3 will do well.
