How many articles do you submit each week?

I am just curious as to how many articles you guys submit on your given topic/keyword in a given week? I have heard so much conflicting information. 5, 10, 20 even 30 on the same topic?

And how often do you submit? and do you keep this up every week if you get indexed high to stay there?

Thanks,

Matt

Honestly its not how many articles you submit - its where - using syndication on 1 or 2 sites a week can have a dramatic impact on your traffic and many other aspects of your business.

I have a whole list of article directories, but I was going to mainly focus on sending the articles to three sites: ezinearticles, goarticles, and articlebase

Do you figure this to be good or would you recommend I send to many more?

Everyone has their own angle so you have to figure out what works for "you" and take into consideration how aggressive you are aiming to be. Personally, I always submit to multiple directories to generate link juice and readers from more than one source...I submit unique/spun articles though, not the same exact article to each.

And how many per week again depends on how aggressive you are looking to be...how quickly you're trying to beat out competitors (and keep up with them)...or if you even care about competition.

There is no "secret" formula. Again you have to develop what works for "you" based on your personal goals. (I wouldn't just submit to one single same article directory all the time though...but that's just me).

It Depends on your niche. It's its competitive like IM, Weight loss, you will need way more than 20 articles per week...

As for the smaller market, you can make a lot of money with 30 articles per month. I've done it in the forex market.

And if you promote membership sites, it's even better.

Do you guys use some sort of software or website to mass submit to the others? and what do you consider the top five article sites? ezine being number 1 it seems. do you all hand-write each article or use spinning software? thanks for any response.

I wrote a test article a few days ago at article blast and got 13 hits but how/where would i backlink to the article itself? forums on the niche? thanks

Consistency is the key.I submit 20 to 30 articles in a week in multiple directories. You have continually keep on submitting before you see some good results along with the fact that you submit your articles to the right directories and write them right.

I personally submit a minimum of 30 articles per week to many directories, specially if I am testing a new niche I try to submit as many articles as I can to get some quick results.

I personally submit 3-4 per week to ezine articles. Its just one tool in the arsenal, so I am definitely not dedicating a lot of time to it.

    Hello,
I summit 10 articles per week.

Article marketing is not a game of number rather it is a game of content and positioning.

I agree with Luckystar... I dont believe article marketing to be a numbers game anymore. Its about promoting the content to get the most exposure.

The figures above are not really very helpful without a bit more detail.

    Here's what I mean:

This week I submitted 10 quality articles to Ezine. I then spun - really spun - them and posted each to about 100 article directories (each post as unique as possible) then I spun in FTS format and posted in there (30 blogs) and posted 2 spun copies on 2 blogs.

    So was that just 10 articles or, as they were all spun and at leat 85% unique, was it 10 + (10 x 100) + 30 + 2 = 1042 articles?

also, I asked something in a thread I started earlier which may be relevant to this persons question.

Sad thing is i didnt write a good title and the thread got swamped to page 2 before many people looked at it.

      Sorry Lifebite,

FTS stands for Free Traffic System, basically an online article submitter that posts to wordpress blogs.

Most article spiining is done with this format

      The {quick|rapid|swift|speedy} fox

FTS use this format: The [spin]quick|rapid|swift|speedy[/spin] fox

I haven't submitted articles in over a year. But when I did, I would go through a phase of submitting 20-40 articles in a single week and then waiting to see which publishers even nibbled. Then I would focus on those publishers and get to know the editor and find out exactly what they wanted to see to publish me.

My average article netted about $20,000. My best result was $240,000 in gross sales for an investing article.

Quantity is important at first to find out which publishers are even looking for new writers. Submitting only to a single publisher when they haven't accepted a new writer's work in years will never work. You have to get some volume out there to find the editors who are accepting new writers.

But after you get a list of editors who are even halfway interested, it's all about the quality of the publication and the quality of your article.

Depends on how it fits into your business plan I guess...

Are you looking to leverage the directories for their inherent traffic or are you backlinking from reputable sites for SEO benefits?

Everybody knows the initial surge of traffic can be huge. So, if you are looking to leverage that angle then I would say open the flood gates with no less than 10 per day, no cap on the max, whatever you (or your outsources can achieve).

If you are looking to help your rankings, then simply check what your competition is doing and beat it by at least 5%...

It really depends on the purpose of your articles, these are just two scenarios, there are plenty more...

    Just my .02 cents

    Paleochora,

I just went through my 2008 Writer's Market book and sent them to every publisher with a decent publication that matched the niche I was targetting.

That is usually 20-40 publications. Sometimes more. Sometimes less. Then 2-4 will nibble right away and 2-4 more will contact you weeks later. It is usually in the 2-4 that contact you weeks later that you will find the exact right match.

And I wouldn't focus on changing business models to making money from article submissions. I think I was only paid $2,000 or something like that for the article that grossed $240,000 in sales. Article marketing with a resource box or bio is still way better than getting paid for your time writing an article.

Depending on what you want to achieve, the competition especially when you are building backlinks, you migh need to be very aggressive. Personally i submit a minimum of 10 unique articles a week.

Usually in a good week it's a couple hundred articles. This includes my SEO clients as well, not just my own websites. I like to do at least one article per keyword and blast it out all over the place. When you have dozens of websites along with clients the articles can really add up.

I'm using this for backlinking and seo only.
