Where to start Niche Blogs?

Hey all

I now want to start making niche adsense/cb blogs. But, I am confused on how to get started.

I can do KW research, domaining, setting up the blog. But, what I can't do is picking-up a niche/product.

Any tips on that?

Thanks
Karan

Yes, get Market Samurai. This will help you narrow down search keyword phrases that do not have a lot of competition.

You can use Google products, Amazon or ebay to get an idea about a product which you are going to be targeted. Go through the products and find some high paying products which you think that the competition will be low.

Then you have to a keyword research to identify a low competitive keyword. I am using Micro Niche Finder for that.

Check out omgili.com And scroll down to the most popular tags and pick one.
Just pick one niche and start.

Dont overanalyze or else you will never get started.

      Hey all,

You could try looking for something obscure. I was told of a guy who set up a site just about garage doors!

Higher value items may give higher affiliate payouts but you may not sell too many. If you promote a bunch of lower priced stuff you may sell more as people are usually quite happy to part with a few dollars without thinking about it too much. Try and think outside the box, Amazon and Ebay are a good start.

My wife just told me about a site that just sells vacum cleaner bags, and sales are going great!

Yea what I do is browse Shopping.com Top Searches and Amazon Bestsellers and look for anything that is three words long, that way I can laser in on some longtail keywords. Other places to look are:

    Technorati
    43 Things
    Yahoo Buzz
    Ebay Pulse
    CBengine.com and Clickbank Marketplace
    Google Trends and Zeitgeist
    Squidoo Top Lenses

*Pretty much any type of bestsellers list from any type of major product site.
    Good Luck

I'd also suggest the shopping link on Goggle's page, just keep hitting refresh to see what's being searched (not so much for popularity) to get more ideas. And I'd suggest staying away from some fad or trendy items and TVs (specific items), they tend to be seasonal and have a very short shelf life. Use Google trends to see if it's a consistent seller. There's also another Google link (insights, I think) to see if it's rising or falling in sales.

I use Micro Niche Finder for low competition keywords, but if you are asking where you actually get your ideas for a niche to research from, some places you can look are at TV ads, magazine ads, what's in the news. Also, if you want to spend about $30/mnth to make it real easy to see what's really hot on Ebay, you can use Terapeak.com. I use it a lot and it's the beginning of keyword research for me. You can also use pulse.ebay.com, but you don't get as many results from that. Google Hot Trends, but they are often hot news items about people rather than something you can market.

So you want to combine AdSense and ClickBank...?

For AdSense there are some great niches that pay big $$$ per click
that many don't think about at first...

Usually people would go for the obvious "hungry" niches like
weight loss... which is okay... but there is also sooooooo much competition
if you want to get ranked...

    Anyway...

A better way to go (in my opinion) is to look for everyday markets that
are ever-green with PHYSICAL products in them, where you can be sure
there are a lot of businesses in that area (and always will be).

    Hint?

Think construction businesses, roofing, windows, oil industry...

Do you start to see a little pattern?

And there are endless amounts of these niches around! And it's things people will
always be searching for and companies always spending big dollars
to advertise. These are not good niches for affiliate products...
but for AdSense they are great :-) Advertisers pay a lot per click in these markets

My tip: Focus your entire site on ONE main sub-niche of a big niche
and put about 10-15 pages on any one site only. The rest of your efforrts
should be LINKBUILDING to that site (slowly and naturally)

Start building many of these sites consistently, instead on focusing all
your energy on just one site. Build a site a week and gradually you
    will have collective earnings.

    The best of luck!
