How can I monitize this website?

Several years ago, I set up an online herb and spice business, avonspice.com. I ran it for a while, and then lost interest, so I disabled the shopping cart but left the website up.

It gets about 120 unique visitors a day. It also has about 3,000 registered users.

I get a steady stream of people inquiring why they can't order, and they continue to register with the site.

Any ideas on how to monitize the site?

Thank in advance.

  • Hi Sailor John nice meeting you here. You can use Adsense, affiliate programs, CPA you name it to monetize.

If you don't bother to do anything with it, you can actually sell the site for a price. You can sell the site at the classified ad section here at warrior, sitepoint or digital point forums
  • You can use google adsense, Amazon Associate Program, ClickBank etc ... programs to monetize your website.
  • Here's one way you can monetize the site.

Why not sell to these people what they are telling you they want to buy?

You said they inquire why they can't order, right? So give them what they want.

That's a sure way to get some money from that.

Then you can get into the adsense, affiliate stuff, etc.

Or just sell it off to someone who will make the most of the site and not neglect it.

  • Create some ebook about spice and herbs and market it to your list, you can also market other porducts from clickbank.

You can always put google adsense it is 10 minute job.

  • The easiest way would be to sell as an affiliate.
Whether it's physical products or ebooks, there's an affiliate program out there.

I have several herb ebooks that are plr. If you're interested, PM me and I'll send them to you.

    • This is the obvious way to go. Give people what they are looking for.
Start getting them to sign up to your list and arrange specials with the supplier. Send out a monthly list of offers for your visitors to buy.

Give them tons of "Free" info in a weekly newsletter and sell ebooks, clickbank products and the like.

  • I assume they are looking to buy hers and spices? Find an affiliate program for herbs and spices (Amazon, maybe?) and sell 'em what they want!
  • I would simply change the site around to amazon affiliates if I did not have much time... let people do their shopping there... It does not take long to set up... email all your registered users tell them there has been an update... see what happens... if you make money keep on going or get the records to increase the site sale value... I'm sure if you made $100 in a month... you'll easily get $500 for the site if you want rid of it.

    • It sounds like to monetize your website you need to re-enable the shopping cart. That's a great start. You can use adsense or the right Clickbank product if there is one. But you can find out how to monetize your site with my video course in my sig below on monetizing traffic.
