Who has Google Voice? Who sells Google Invites?

I just bought a google voice invite off of Ebay. I think it is so worth it for internet marketers to have a phone number they can have transferred anywhere they want.

Well I am just curious:

How does one become a Google voice reseller?

I wonder how these folks on Ebay get like 1000's of invites and then sell them.

    OK,

Unless I missed something, you don't pay for a Google Voice invite. At least I didn't.

I think you have been had.

    Thanks,

    John

Just request an invite from google directly. It takes anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks to get it. The more gmail accounts you have, the more requests you can make. To be safe, just send out requests from different IP addresses.

I requested an invite about a month ago and never got one. So I decided just to buy an invite off of ebay.

Google is often slow in sending invites. I got an invite to Wave in about 2 months.

Your invitation must have been lost. People just request more than they need and sell them.

I don't think people are really allowed to sell those invites, just like people weren't really supposed to sell Google Mail invites back when it wasn't so easy to get an account.

I have two accounts with Google Voice. One was for my personal use, the other I set up to do business on. Namely because I gave out my actual number too many times and get too many sales calls. I plan on giving out my google voice numbers and switching my cell number.

My main issue is that I run a windows mobile phone. I think even Apple has gotten a Google Voice app at this point, and there is still nothing for windows mobile that comes from google. All the 3rd party ones haven't been any good. The android one is great. Only problem for me would be that you can only use one account.

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay? I've got at least one invite left I'd trade/barter for a little bit of help.

I paid $1.45. If you search on Ebay for Google voice you will see people bidding on Google invites. The highest price is $1.99 Buy It Now.

I LOVE Google Voice. I have one for my personal use (makes screening calls a breeze and even blocking calls which you can't do from a cell otherwise and love getting transcribed messages although they are often not exactly right just yet LOL) and one for my primary business where I secured a number that is really good for my brand/service.

There's no such thing as a Google Voice reseller because accounts are free, you just have to wait for the invites and some people don't want to wait so they buy one for a few bucks from someone. After I had my personal account invite, I just invited my business so I didn't have to wait for an invite.

Hate that I can't forward BOTH to my cell though, that really sucks.

I have not realized that both can't be forwarded. I'll have to double check my setup since I haven't tried doing that yet.

So you've had some luck with the transcription? I haven't had any luck with any of them being close.
